This has happened to every tomato I've ever tried to grow bar none… probably gonna happen to these current fruits too. ššš“ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó æā¤

Hi, Can I compost tomatoes with blossom end rot or should I bin them?
Ivan, thank you for all the valuable information, you share with us. It does help. Thanks for sharing.
good idea !
I never thought about saving the water from boiled eggs. Great tip. Would that be good just to water with even without blossom end rot, just good for the soil?
Ivan, I agree within you on the causes of BER. As someone who doesn't eat animal products I keep a bottle of CalMag on hand-works every time.
You're spot on š
i like to know wear you seen blossom end rot on peppers ? i never see that before
Great advice as always Ivan thankfully wr have had quite a few decent harvests off of our 4 cherry tomato plants.
Going off subject but i have what seems a healthy looking cucumber plant its producing tiny cucumbers flowering and then dont seem to be getting any bigger i am using a moisture stick and feeding it once every 10 to 14 days but they still dont seem to be getting any bigger could this just be down to the weather or am i missing a trick im new gardener id apriciate the advice thanks
Gary
Ivan, I have planted cosmos in the containers with my tomato plants and the cosmos seems to be taking over. Should I repot the cosmos? The tomato plants are flowering but they are growing quite slowly compared to my other tomato plants.
Thanks for this. Im finally starting to see some fruit on my outdoor roma tomatoes so I'll keep a good eye on them and i will know what to do if there are any issues thanks to you!š
Such a shame you lost a few plum tomatoes Ivan. Thank you as always for you advice and help it helps me loads
I watched a video of the egg shell option and he said to grind them very fine before adding to the compost. Just broken shells will not break down in anyway so he said. I've done the grind fine this year with shells from my own chickens. I'm in Quadgro pots so unlikely to dry out. So no blossom end rot at all at the moment. My worry with the Quadgros is that the roots end up in the water tanks so I worry that that is affecting the plants too. Although I've had great crops since I've had them. We all keep on learning with no definate answers where nature is involved. Once again great content Ivan.
Please can you show us how this plant gets on? Even if it doesn't help? The rest of your tomatoes look great so I bet you have an amazing harvest!
Great advice Ivan, I'm going to give the diluted milk ago, great tip, hope you get some tomatoes on the plant as noticed some flowers near the top, take care Steve
Great video and very informative and helpful. Thankyou
Thanks Ivan, for this very helpful info', sorry that you lost some of those tom's but was a great learning vlog for us. Take care and all the best. Stevie
awh no such a shame š¢
Hi ivan i put some epsom salts in the planting hole when i plant my tomatoes seems to work i havent had any blossom end rot for 3yrs sorry about yr toms
Ivan I have had blossom end rot for the last 2 years no ripe tomatoes this year all are in containers so I can control the compost got a good crop so far but one curling leaves so thanks for the information very encouraging big thanks BA94Antrim n Ireland
Very interesting, one of my tomatoe plants last year had blossom end rot, fingers crossed it doesn't happen again, i treat the plant & all was good after that ..
All my tomatoes (both container grown and in ground), peppers and pumpkins had BER badly last season. There was plenty of calcium in the ground as I compost all my egg shells in the planting space (from my 15 chickens) and add bonemeal. I did the same as you with regards to watering – a deep water every few days. I also have clay soil which holds the water well in ground. And my containers had a mix of new compost and potting mix. I felt sure my watering technique was ok. Couldn't figure it out! I did some research into our current understanding of BER and found that calcium deficiency in soil is quite rare, it's typically a watering issue that impacts the uptake of calcium. So, I bit the bullet and installed a simple irrigation system on a timer. Within a week, all my new fruits came through without issue, completely BER free. Since using timed irrigation, not a single case of BER since, on any plant.
Thank you Ivan for your informative and interesting videos, this is the first time that I have set up a garden and you have been an endless source of brilliant information for me. I have 7 tomato plants and 2 of them look the same as your plant, stressed, I now know how to tackle the problem. I'm not expecting amazing results from my veggie garden this year but rather using it as a learning experience so that next year I will have learnt from my mistakes, (hopefully). Thank you again and take care.
As a complete novice to gardening, I am learning SO much! Thank you Ivan for making informative, easy to understand videos! – You are highly appreciated! š
Omg thankyou Ivan i had a couple of tomatos with this š¢
My tomatoes have been terrible this year. I purchased some special tomato compost, but unfortunately I overwatered (so my fault entirely). On one plant all the flower heads have dropped off too š. A lesson for next year I suppose. Last year was so bountiful too.
…thanks again Ivan, will look out for these problems you've clearly identified ..cheers
Ivan, thank you for a very informative and interesting video update, some very useful tips. Paul
Thanks!
Thanks Iven for the tips of how to try and prevent blossom end rot of which some of my tomato š plants have suffered from season after season this season however I have added some diluted calcium and they are all looking healthy so far. I have never done a measure of the PH level so I just ordered a PH tester of Ebay .Thanks once again Tim š
So informative vlog Ivan so appreciate you sharing your knowledge so newbie gardeners like me benefit thank you so much š
I just use the NurtriGrow 2-Part fertiliser. No other non-chelated feed can provide calcium without blocking magnesium!
The only reason that BEM occurs is down to poor soil feeding.
Interesting new fixes from last years first week of August video and use of diluted milk. Good to have different options. šš
