In this week’s video, I changed around the containers on the patio, making a cottage garden area in pots. The bees are absolutely loving it and so am I, with the movement and colour there now.
I went shopping in The Garden House in Malahide, finding the exact style of plants I was looking for, giving the patio area more colour, height, and fullness. Having plants in pots is so handy for those with a smaller garden, or even a patio, because you can still create something so beautiful.
I also treated myself to some gardening books that I can read over the next few months so that I’m ready to go next spring again!

It looks so beautiful, my sister is a keen gardener l have told her to watch you , she like yourself is excited about getting out into the garden 👍
First of all I love ❤️ you gardening pots
I don't want to be a expert smart ass but it is from my own mistakes
First don't get to much books that only sets confusing cost a lot you can get a lot from you local library there is a heap of free information out there
Start your own seeds bulbs tubers it not only the money your spending on the garden centres but you can sow veritys that you garden centre don't have and lots of seeds grow easily the point is the plugs you buy are generics the easiest grown what produce the most same old same old thing
Learn about soil acid natural alkaline heavy bogey sand
When you start gardening you need to develop patients rember you find a lot of you plants need splitting after two or three years like dahlia tubers you could easily end up with twenty tubers after five years and not knowing what to do with half them
On the likes of gardners world there is a big difference between theory and practice
I know you looking at there floury weed free perfect soils but you must remember they have only a short slot to produce and it cost a lot to produce any tv serious and the got to make there sponsors happy but when watching it and it is good to watch it relax and take the great advice the thing about GW is it has a great spread of gardening ideas
You potter at gardening you don't work at gardening if you have a hard job to do in gardening like digging a border or weeding just do 20 minutes go away and just 20 minutes and do something else and come back and just do another 20 minutes and the job gets done a lot easier
Get in contact with local gardeners they are a mine of information they have plants and bulbs seed to give away
On compost you need to give feed to plants in pots as compost has no nutritional value for plants even if it says on the bag it has it don't last long
Second of all like out at supermarket plants and plants that have finished flowering for this year there is next year and you can get some value buy looking around perfectly good plants
Now God Bless the work
Do you follow Claus Dalby? What inspiration!
So beautiful ❤
Your cottage garden is looking beautiful.
Wow! That looks fantastic! It created such a big impact. I may have to go shopping…😂😂
Your pots are lovely, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your inspiration
Hi there! I love your garden!😍
I love this! You’ve given me inspiration for my container garden. I am in The US, Colorado and I am impatiently waiting for the start of my garden season. Also, thanks for showing the books! I’m a sucker for good gardening books.
Beautiful x
Just subscribed as I love watching Cathrines channel, so I'm sure I will love yours and so many videos to binge on
It’s a very happy assortment of potted plants.
I'm in Canada and really like this video. I doubt these plants would survive in pots through heavy snow and cold. So I wonder if I put them into my unheated garage this coming winter if they would survive? All my potted hostas come back every year after overwintering in garage. * Note try to find another potting soil, I noticed you are using Miracle gro which is synthetic and toxic. There are lots of organic potting soil and then amend with compost and natural fertilizer.
Nice to see I'm not the only one that budgets money on a regular basis for plants…..I've been doing it for years…..Going shopping for plants and flowers for my yard is my most favorite thing to do each year……You go crazy with the plants like me…..The more the better…..It's nice to see how other people plant…..It would be pretty boring if we all did it the same way…..I like getting ideas from others…….It looks great!…..Enjoy your beautiful plants while sitting out on your patio…..Thank You for sharing.
Awesome. You gave me inspiration
Ĺove watching you in 5he garden you inspire me . Keep gardening 😊😊
I garden in the ground and containers too.
It gets to 105 f easily in the summer in high desert in Utah, US.
I can move the plants in containers to shade if it gets to hot.
I love arranging them around my sitting areas,
and they are wonderful to arrange for fun occasions like an outdoor lunch or tea.
To over-winter I bank them against my house, blow leaves on them,
fill the gaps with short logs, rolled up cardboard, or paper bags stuffed with leaves.
Our overnight winters can be as low as 5 f, and I have been very successful this way.
Thanks for the great video, loved your 2 biggest!
Shopping "just for a look"? Thatʻs me lol Iʻm in Hawaiʻi, so Iʻm very happy to have found your channel!
Beautiful.
Beautiful!
This is exactly the kind of confession I needed today <3
Just wanted to point out that sometimes you mention the VARIETY name, not the plant name. For example, the plant you described as "Geyser White", is actually a GAURA, Geyser White is the variety.
How perfectly lovely. Thank you for this inspiration!!! Liked and subscribed!!! 🌸 🌺 🌹
I love pots!!!
well that was fun, you did all the work and I get to enjoy the results, great video
So pretty! This is why I’m not allowed in garden centres by myself🥹😅
Hi from Pennsylvania USA! This is just my style, three or four different kinds of pots filled with airy pinks and purples with a touch of white and yellow. Lovely!
Stunning.
I am a pot gardener. What I do with old pots I turn them up and put under pots to make them taller
Hello! I absolutely love all your beautiful plants! I too love container gardening its great because like you said you can move things around plus i have a smaller backyard so its perfect! Going to the garden center is my happy zone! Happy gardening everyone!
Beautiful.. I'm just like you- so excited about creating a cottage garden…😂❤
😂 Just for a look… That's what I tell my hubby he knows better and just smiles lols
Love your arrangement’s. I LOVE pots.
I have enough plants..says no gardener ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣.. I get in trouble just looking!!..
Very pretty….just for a look….famous last words😝
Just watching this before I head out to do a couple of planters. The soil in my garden needs cultivating so planters are easier for me in the meantime.
"Just a look" how many times I have said that. Im very much the same much prefer the interest rather than seeing everything all at once.
New subscriber 😊
You put together gorgeous plant combinations in your containers. I took a few notes so i could copy you in some of mine. Thank you, again, for sharing.
