Join us as we visit RHS Bridgewater in Salford, near Manchester for the first time. This garden is the newest of the RHS gardens and only opened in 2021. Building a brand new garden from scratch allows us to see what can be achieved in a relatively short space of time. The skill of plantsmanship demonstrated by garden designer Tom Stuart-Smith gives us amateur gardeners the opportunity to see firsthand pioneering modern design at its best. There is so much that we can learn from and so many ideas that we can take back to our own gardens. A stunning garden but so much to see that we didn’t get around it all in one day! Nevermind, that gives us plenty of reason to return again and see the rest and also how the borders perform at other times of the year. A wonderful day out that I strongly recommend.

So informative…I love catalpa. The flowers remind me of orchids.
I’ve seen the documentary on the building of this garden. It’s so fun to see it now that it’s grown on. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for taking us along on your visit to this amazing garden ! ❤ Just beautiful. I planted a Mexican feather grass in my garden once and it self seeded like crazy, maybe my climate.
Thanks for the video and Happy Birthday!!!
9:48 it's stipa pulcherrima (=S. barbata). It fits toghether with Limonium latifolium.
And the other grass is probably Melica ciliata.
Happy birthday! May you have many more years filled with flowers and grasses!
Reference your poor husband!! My late husband would have called it a dose of Large hand, small map syndrome when you were talking about the rill and paddling pond. When I used to come up with ideas he would say “ Is this another fine mess you are getting me into”😂😂
Thank you for taking us along on your Birthday Special Day. Sending Birthday Wishes😍
Thanks for this lovely trip round my local gardens, I live just around the corner from it. They have done a great job haven't they. Wishing you a happy birthday too 🎉
Thank you for taking us along for the tour of this lovely garden on your special day. And, for giving the history & sharing photos of what was once a magnificent, grand house. Also, I like your idea of putting a block of color or multiple plants of one color in borders for continuity. Happiest of Birthdays to you! May God bless you greatly in the year to come!
So much information in this video – Thank you. Note to self: plant lilies next year; don't put sickly Veronicastrum on compost heap – I must have planted it in the wrong place !
Thank you for another garden tour. You do such an amazing job explaining gardens 😉 your exceptional critiquing gardens is so helpful to other gardeners…always positive, but helpful! Thank you for doing these videos❤❤❤
Any future videos on roses would be helpful;)❤ I totally trust your opinion.
