This is the basic routine I do midsummer/early July for my pepper plants. There is no need for expensive fertilizers or over thinking tending and care.

  1. Good morning, Gary. I'm watching you from my garden today. I have some weeding to get to, and I thought, who better to listen to than you.

  2. Getting a few brown spots on some leaves and a few are falling off. In 20 years I’ve never seen this. Ideas what this could be and how to treat?

  3. Your great. Gary Good morning o I was just taking leaves off the bottom of my pepper plants this morning but it’s too hot. I am in Staten Island New York and I noticed that the tomatoes are already growing but they have like a little bit of a black or it looks like the flash is almost disappearing I don’t see any signs of bugs. Do you have any idea what it might be my tomato plants you know people don’t know how hard it is to grow a good tomato off my tomato when I picked it up it looked beautiful. The bottom of the plant of the tomato itself was all like rotted. I didn’t see any signs of little worms. Maybe they’re small I can’t see them. I want you to take a picture of it and send it to you I just don’t want to be a bother, but I do have so many questions. I appreciate your time. God bless. Thanks so much for today shell cause I need it. I already have three peppers that I picked but they’re green. I’m afraid they’re not gonna turn red before they get that discoloration OK thank you.

  4. My peppers were planted in May, the first to go into the ground. Most of the plants are small, a few have grown, but none are big, yet. We had a cooler than usual spring with lots of rain, so I had to cover the top side to protect from hail and help keep them warm, open on one side for bees and air flow. They are flowering and developing fruit, but the plants are simply small.

Overnight it went from cool and rainy last week to 90's this week. I am going to add compost, bone meal (because left in potatoes came up next to them), and cover them from the sun. Fingers crossed they finally take off.

I planted my tomatoes much later than the peppers, shade cloth used the whole time, and they only took 2 weeks to start thriving. So, we shall see how it goes with this very eratic weather. Maybe I'll just get mini peppers on bonsai plants if they don't grow soon. 🤷‍♀️

  5. Your Peppers look great! Mine are currently in ICU .. was hardening them off.. and some munching critters had a feast.. deleafed most of them to stumps.. the ones that had some leaves have been potted up in fresh soil and fertilized.. I have them in my greenhouse, where I may just keep them this year.. if they survive.

  6. How about a shishito recipe, I just harvested my red Pontiacs and look forward to making your potatoe leek soup from last year. Really enjoy your cooking videos

  7. Thanks for sharing. I’m growing sweet peppers in containers. Would like to plant from seeds some tomatoes, but I’m new to Florida and trying to determine the best time to do. So since it’s so hot now. I believe I’m in zone 10 A if you have any advice in growing in this climate, please share. Thanks again. Happy growing.🪴😊

  8. I noticed in this video that you have your potatoes laid out in various areas. Can this be done, with potatoes, until they are cured?

  9. I learned this spring to plant peppers with similar water needs together. I planted a sweet banana, garden salsa, and Pepperoncini in a 20 gallon pot, and I think the Pepperocini drown. I might try the pepperoncinis with small hot peppers next year.

  10. Thank you for this video and thank you for being transparent about how sometimes the garden can just get away from us!

  11. Hi I am trying with my bell peppers right now the white flies are attacking them serious I want to spray but we are getting rain every day, great vidio good info.
