Tomato powder is a versatile ingredient made by freeze drying or dehydrating and grinding tomatoes into a fine powder. With its concentrated and intense tomato flavor, it serves as a practical substitute for fresh tomatoes in recipes. Whether you’re making soups, sauces, stews, or marinades, tomato powder enhances the taste profile of your dishes. It has a longer shelf life than fresh tomatoes, lasting many years if freeze dried when stored properly. Additionally, it is a good source of vitamins A and C, low in calories, and contains essential minerals like potassium. Reconstitution with water or other liquids allows for easy use in recipes, while its lightweight and compact nature make it convenient for outdoor activities. Tomato powder truly offers a convenient way to enjoy the taste of tomatoes all year round.

Thank you for the great video. As a medium Harvest Right owner, we are still learning all the things we can freeze dry. This year our tomato plants were the best we ever had, so many cans of sauce and salsa. I believe we are going to put in a few more plants and get another crop to freeze dry.
I love Clamato juice! Wondering how to make that. ๐ I love how all this turned out. I bet it would make great Mexican rice. โคโค
You can also freeze dry the skin and seeds and powder it and use as well. I make my enchilada sauce with whole, cored tomatoes and seasonings. After I get it boiled and flavors acquainted, I run it all through the food mill. I continue to boil down the sauce and freeze dry the seeds and pulp for instant Mexican seasoning!
Made 11 pints salsa and 2 pints tomato juice yesterday. I like your new toy Jill.
Wow! A great way to preserve your tomatoes ๐
The list of mater uses is longggg! Good video, Jill. ๐๐
That was amazing! Nice to be able to drink a fresh tomato. When I save enough to order a Harvest Right, Iโll be using your link! Good video ๐๐ป๐
Tomato powder makes the best purรฉe! Love it
Kitchenaid has an attachment for processing tomatoes. It works great ๐๐ฝ
I've considered a freeze-dryer, but they're so expensive it seems like a counter-productive preservation method. I mean, maybe for a really long-term method if one is of the prepper type. IOW, how much did that powder cost you to make? Maybe you'll change my mind and thanks.
Oh, forgot to ask. I see you juiced and then used pulp and seeds too. Would it be easier to poke a few holes in tomatoes and freeze dry them whole? Then blend the whole tomatoes??
That is so cool. Preserving tomatoes in a smidgen of the space you'd store canned tomatoes or juice. Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Guess you guys had no trouble with fireworks harming anything last night. Jesus bless.
WOW!!! This is so awesome Jill I've never seen this before. The VEVOR is such a needed tool and looks so easy to use. I'm so impressed by the outcome and like you said "I could of had a V-8" now you can…lol…๐โค When you pocked the freeze dried tomatoes ๐ I was like ๐ฎ wow!!! That's so cool to see…God bless you Jill you're awesome and am always learning from you. ๐๐ป โค ๐ "It Is Well With My Soul " ๐๐ป Love ya โค
I can see why tomato powder is expensive given what it takes to processโฆ..๐
We are getting ready for our first run in our freeze dryer. My husband and daughter spent part of the day juicing our home grown oranges yesterday. Weโre going to give homemade powdered drink mix a try. Thatโs better than Tang for sure. ๐๐
Jill, you have such good tips and tricks! If I ever get to your neck of the woods, I am going to make sure to stop by the market to buy products and just to say Hi.

I have a recipe for homemade V-8. I was going to make some and can it, but now I will freeze dry it and then my husband can mix up a glass at a time. What a great idea! Thanks Jill!
I like your powder.. I wonder if it may be cheaper to buy from patriot supplied
It cost a lot of energy to run it.
Hey Jill that looks great! You could use to make tomato soup. So many good uses for this. God bless.
