What to grow NOW in July! This isn’t your typical video of what to sow this month. Instead, I’ve created an unmissable list of just 5 plants that I think you need in your gardens to give you abundance, tasty food, flowers, and all-year-round interest, without you getting overwhelmed! Don’t just take my word for it… joining me this month are Catherine from @DaintyDiaries and Liz from @LizZorab with their recommendations!
For 5% discount off your seed purchases from Seeds Ireland, click here: https://seedsireland.ie/niallgardens I get asked so often where I get my seeds from, or if I can recommend a source… All of Seeds Ireland’s seeds are certified organic and open pollinated and you’re supporting independent Irish business. I’ve found their germination rates to be great and highly recommend them!

Tell me what you think! What are you growing this month? 😃
May i say firstly, your beds area is looking fantastic, like something from Bloom, well done Niall, your vision is coming alive. I planted artichokes thise year, because i loved watching it in a old allotment that someine had. You will love yours bigtime for sure. Great recommendations thank you, asparagus gone in a few months ago,who knows if it will work out. Great recommendations from the others.
I'm just here for the lovely accents and gorgeous gardens. Even rhough my growing climate is completely different in Southern California USA, I can still pick up some nuggets of wisdom. Thank you for a wonderful video!
I finally found the trick for growing lavender…amending my clay soil to have good drainage.
I love how you describe plants
Catherine – here in South West France I am surrounded by sunflower fields. The flowers are called tournesol – that is – they turn to the sun! Niall – great idea about the lavender. I have lavender in my flower garden, but I was wondering what to put in a gap in my vegetable garden, and now I know. Thank you.
Wow Niall your vegetable garden looks amazing since you put in the gravel paths. Great video as usual!
Great Video and informative too – love this channel :0)
Thanks Niall. Great information about the strawberry plants. I just love Catherine with her happy, cheery smile, She is a sunflower.
Happy July, Niall, from Windermere, Florida 9b 🇺🇸
Great video and collaboration with the ladies.
Very hot here, mid-90's F day and close to 80° at night.
Take care
❤Peggy❤
Lovely selection 🍃🌸🍃
Love your gravel. Looks nice there.
Orange carrots are from the Netherlands not Belgium.
I winter sowed lavender seeds and they didn’t disappoint! Wonderful video as always❤
Thank you for such an interesting video. The veg garden is looking really smart and colourful 😊
Loving every second of this ❤ every single one of you feels so warm and passionate and uplifting. The sunflower 🌻 for the birds is absolutely amazing – they are great parking for them, not just food. They come, park on my sunflowers while waiting for critters they can hunt. At the same time they of course bless my soil with their droppings. So they don't just take but bring nutrition and pest control 💚👌 I often was watching neighbours buy packs and packs of seeds for the birds in the winter and I felt a little bad about the impact of that. To import seeds from far far away to package in plastic when these grow abundantly locally without packaging… so last few years I've been saving quite a lot of seedheads that fully matured and dried nicely, stored them in the shed. Then gave them to the neighbours to hang them where they love to feed birds in the winter months when we usually have heavy snow and nothing for the birds to eat. This way the neighbours are happy because they don't have to buy seeds and can still admire the birds. The birds are happy because they have supplies in times when there's scarcity and I'm happy because i save on the miles and plastic packaging a little. It's not a massive global scale production of course but I like to believe that every little helps.
Thank you for such delightful content. Started my day watching this and it feels like today is going to be a good day. You planted seeds of good feelings 🙏 lots of love from Latvia 🇱🇻
My tip; Dont let carrots go to flower. You will find carrots allover the garden next year if you do.
Thank you. I love that you are in Europe near where I am
Could I please ask what type of sunflower Dainty diaries is stood with in her video please? ❤
Just get more!!!🍓🍓 🍓 that’s what I have wanted. I have a small planter with them but I want more production!
🌻Wonderful episod🌻
Love your garden❤ looks fabulous! Liz is one of my favs.. so calm. I am going to look into an artichoke plant or two 🙂 I’m in southern Maine, 5b.. quite cold winters. I’m starting a bunch of perennials this month and annual houseplant care is on my to do list. I’m planting bush beans and replanting cucumbers.. my current plants are small and slow growing. We had an extremely wet and grey June.
Fantastic video
