    I'm bad at knowing when to water so this is very useful Ivan. I'll get a water meter from Wilko's, it'll be a help for me as I tend to over water. I'm having no luck with carrots by the way, I only have 3 growing! I'll sow some more though, it will be my third go at them, think they just don't like me!

    How we water depends so much on our climate and how we garden. I only grow in containers, tubs, and grow bags, Also when the heat of summer is here sometimes I need to water 2 times a day. On cloudy days I might only water every other day. Learn to check your soil and watch your plants,

    I find that "stressing" chili and pepper plants produces better yield (here in sunny south -east anyways). I am happy to let them look dry/stressed for that reason. Tomatoes I mulch heavily and water almost every day.

    Love my little watering meter. Since 95% of my garden are very large containers the top soil can be very misleading when water is needed. Great information no matter when one lives. 👍👍

    Thanks Ivan, this is all very important info' as you could have grown lots of plants during the hot month of June then continued watering them the same way now (as it's a lot cooler) and kill most of them. One of the things that I bought from Wilko's at the weekend was the same water/ph metre and it was only £3. Take care and all the best. Stevie
