This week’s video is as much for me as it is for you! I wanted to film a garden tour at the halfway mark of the year so when it’s in the depths of winter, I can watch it back and see what the garden was like!
I’m showing what’s in bloom in the cottage garden border, the cottage garden in containers, the vegetable beds and the border that I’ve nicknamed The Jewel Border! There’s still a lot of work to do and I’ve got so many plans, and still plenty of time this season to get some of them done!

Your garden looks awesome!! Everything is blooming and so pretty!!
I love your enthusiasm for gardening.. it is looking so full of beautiful color and textures . Your apple tree is loaded!! And yes, I learned recently the apples need to be thinned to get larger fruit ( I'm 61!) And I won't tell you to stop spending money on your garden … I can't either 😉👩🌾
Seagulls??
Do you live by the sea?
A coast walk would be lovely to see!!
I love the mirror behind you plants – I’m stealing that idea. 💕💕💕

Your garden is so lovely, you and Katherine have inspired me to have a go this year 👍👍
Love this keep it all going ❤❤
Beautiful peaceful space, your joy is felt as you name your lovely flowers. I was so glad to meet Colin the sea bird❤❤❤
Karen, your corn is growing up nicely. Is it beans climbing the stalks? I’m so late planting mine but I found some plants at a garden store and planted last weekend. I put some bamboo polls by the sprouting beans as I’m not sure the corn will keep up to the beans! I have spaghetti’s squash in between the corn as well.
Not a sweet william but a phlox. 😊
Sometimes it's better to buy 1 big plant and split it than a few smaller ones. 👍
Such an enjoyable video. Your beautiful garden is coming along so well. Thank you for sharing your garden journey. It's so inspiring.
How delightful. What about peonies?
That’s Gaura! The white flower with long stalks 😍 funny I commented a few months ago saying it’s super easy to grow from seeds and is perennial and look you have it already! Beautiful garden Karen 🌸🌻🌷🌺
gorgeous!! you have such success with the blooming♡ beautiful… its so hot here its like the plagues of egypt with these giant grasshoppers and 97° f and the spider mites ugh! did you do something to keep the black spot off of the roses? they are so lovely everything is so lovely. well done!
The money spending is so real. I’ve bought so much dirt! Lol. Garden looks great. And you are lovely.
I had to fight the urge to mentally tie that long fluffy grass up in a true ponytail fashion lol. It’s gorgeous. If I had it I would tie it up. That might be wrong and not healthy but it look like fluff. I’d have to play with it. I love that you have a seagul friend. I have the little hummingbirds in my garden that I talk to. Oh and two toads. As far as what I’m growing for fall, I’m trying my hand at blue pumpkins and the fairytale ones. So far the plants are looking ok. Fingers crossed .
It's all looking so lovely, Karen!
I can’t recommend so many different types of rudbeckia I love them to pieces 🙂 also things like eucalyptus (though you need to manage it and trim or it WILL grow into a tree/bush! Lol), sea holly is lovely as well but spikey, recently I found one of my dream plants in a garden centre as I think right now is their season but a hibiscus I cannot wait for it to bloom x your garden is looking lovely! Have a lovely week!
Love it all, and go out and get some hydrangea and maybe some lovely dark hosta’s for color contrast! But it looks fab!
Aww your garden is gourgeous! 🥰
Love the chat walking around your garden. ! Can’t wait to see it mature !
I can’t tell you not to spend at garden centre 😂cause I do same ! I can’t go without buying. And my garden tiny lol
Your garden is beautiful. I love the rooms you've created. You've inspired me to start some seeds for my own garden and they haven't died yet…. 😂
Hi Karen, so glad I found your channel through Katherine's, the two of you are gas : you're great craic and so inspiring ! How about replacing the two Mexican ponytail grass by some hydrangeas? I think it would really add a different texture and colour to the jardin ! Greeting from France (Nantes, not quite Provence !)
Karen everything looks good and healthy. I would be cutting and rooting your own plants. You are the "garden center" . If you don't have it Catherine does. ha ha Save some money for garden do dads and shade trees. Take care have a great weekend.
That plant you don’t what it is it’s a gaura . It’s stunning. Get it in the ground asap. Lol. I’m in MA. Zone 6a they come come back every year. My neighbor has a gaura that is stunning. Dorene Weiss
Love your down to earth talks. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and garden my Dear!
Foxgloves don’t come back when you cut them, it’s a one and done. If you leave them to go to seed, they’re likely to seed themselves so I would recommend doing that! 🩷
The garden is looking great, lovely and full. Keep up the good work. I too have the addiction to buying plants, cannot get enough. It could worse, it gives me so much pleasure.😊
Cannot wait to see what you do with the barrels.
See you next week.
It is absolutely gorgeous 💐 great job 😊
Hi Catherine, Clematis like their roots in the shade. The rest of the plant wants to grow up towards the sun.
Sorry Karen, I called you Catherine. You're both gorgeous ladies so I don't think it's a bad mistake. 😊♥
My plant I'm lusting after is an astrantia 'roma'. I seen one in bloom and couldn't find one anywhere until I stumbled upon a small garden centre in blessington near Rossborough House. It would be adorable in your cottage garden.
The garden looks better every time you show it. It’s fun to watch it grow with you. Thank you!❤
Karen, both you and Catherine have really inspired me to have my own veggie garden this year! All veggies are growing abundantly much to my delight, growing things is definitely addictive and so much fun as well. Thank you both for the amazing videos you post and thank you also for the inspiration as well. Colin is doing his inspection to make sure all is in order lol. ❤❤❤
