  1. loved it contrary to the previous comment I think that is a simple and great garden tho it seems easy must be a lot of work!

  2. Beautiful stone patio! One question, though. How does rain drain off the lowest level of the patio? Are there water ducts that feed the planters? Wouldn't want it to turn into a swimming pool. I hear it rains in Seattle sometimes 😉

  3. Yes, we have quite a bit of rain here! There is a drain in the corner of the patio that ties into the drain in the wall. And yes, there is drip irrigation in the planters 🙂

  4. Why do so many of these landscape videos have terrible music? Why not have landscape designer do voice over, it would be so much more interesting.

  5. Why not have a backyard full of edibles? That is the wave of the future! Instead of just show plants.

  6. William- there is actually a 6' planter full of herbs, as well as several blueberry bushes in this garden. The other planters were intended to be for growing edibles but we planted them with shrubs temporarily because of the time of year.

  7. Why didnt they copy the old Roman way and stick a rain pool in the middle of the courtyard floor? Those old pools were about 30 feet long and 6 feet wide or so and maybe 7 inches deep. You can see them in the Pompeii vids.

  8. Landscaping is often done by a highly skilled service provider for it to make it more fascinating. But, you can always do it on your own. These landscaping ideas for a small lawn are indeed very meaningful in terms of helping you build the landscape design that you always aimed for. Just always consider to make use of the available space in a beneficial manner.

  9. So damn perfect! I see how you severely demolish the courtyard and transform it into a very nice landscape. The makeover was finely done! Congratulations for a job well done!

  10. Brilliantly executed the transformation of small backyard. Everything looks great after complete makeover. Nice work

  11. Don't like the planting schema. But the hard-landscape design looks great. I only can't see where the rain water has to go. And missing the lights, so it's dark at night. But over all well done, garden looks mutch bigger now, and mutch less and easy maintanance.

  12. Terrible music absolutely lovely garden. The grey/green plants work well with the light gray of the stone work.
