  1. I'm thinking that maybe a good way to rid your garden of weeds next season would be to use Growers Solutions weed barrier in your gardens. No weeding and conserves moisture as well. Living traditions Homestead has some good videos and their applications of using it if interested. Won't take care of the deer though unless you use the double fence system like they use for their garden.

  2. Kaye good morning. I love that tool. There is just something so relaxing watching you work in your garden. It cleaned up so nicely. Thank you for sharing

  3. Good morning friend! I put elderberry bushes all around my 4’ fence. 75 was the total I think. Yes they are invasive, but I’d rather deal with that than deer destroying everything. Elderberry gets around 14’ tall and are very easy to propagate. You can cut them anywhere in Missouri even the ditches. We have types on our property. Elderberry syrup is awesome for medicinal purposes.

    No deer in 5 years

  4. Hello, kaye you really have worked so so hard, please always have help when you can, xxits okay not to get everything done, just do what you can kaye. My goodness, i dlove your film s and so grateful that you shhow us the ups znd downs and very joyful things on your homestead. Kaye im very proud of you my dear you tube friend 😊. Hello to all the cats, and creatures, birds.i shall watch again to have my cup of tea, xxthankyou. God bless you, take care 😊xx

  5. Deer, pests, air quality, there's always a battle. Praying your spirits will be uplifted, you will accomplish priorities one day at a time and will find peace and satisfaction in the wins you make each day. We are all in the same boat no matter what we're doing. It's easy to become discouraged for good reasons. Keep fighting the good fight my friend! Blessings will come from our Lord above. Faith, love and peace to you in each moment.

  6. Put up an outer electric tape fence. I've had 19 deer at one time near my garden. I have a hot wire tape 24 inches away, 30 inches high, from my garden fence on the outside. The deer do not jump the width plus height.

  7. Deers are fearful of the human scent, You might want to hang your sweaty clothing around the areas where the deers are appearing I been using this method for years and it will discourage them ,especially the older deers.

  8. Next year, plan to add weed fabric to the lower garden. That "Bone Sauce," might be a good option for the dear problem. Although, I like the Elderberry idea too.

  9. Good Morning Kaye – So very sorry about your losses to the deer once again. They are so determined but so are you. Love the oscillating hoe as looks so much easier than pulling or tilling. This heat and smoke combination is intolerable when you have outdoor work to do. Take care and have a blessed week…

  10. So sorry the deer are making your gardening life frustrating. Danny and Wanda use bone sauce to keep deer away. Perma Pastures Farm sells it. Otherwise, you'll need to get a rifle and become a hunter.

You go, Girl!! Look at you with that wheel hoe! Make your life easier with that oscillating blade – it's sharp on both sides. Push and pull back, push and pull back! You'll get a better and quicker cut, and it's really good for your arms. Use the cultivating tines, too – they go a little deeper and will aerate the soil, too!❤

  11. Wow, that is frustrating I’m sure. Maybe time for the 8ft fence. I have similar pressure from bunnies! I no longer have dogs – huge difference. The young bunnies come to greet me when I go out into the yard. They must think I grow the garden just for them🤨. Hang in there and keep looking for ways to outsmart them.

  12. When is deer hunting season in your area? Sorry they are causing so much damage. What if you attach at the tops of some posts a string or fine wire by crisscrossing it to a few posts. Then tie some strips of bright ribbon at a few spots on the wire so the deer can see it to hopefully deter them from jumping into your fenced gardens. God Bless.💕

  13. I had commented on previous video that all you need do it place some makeshift scarecrows around your garden – make them as cute as you like. It does work.

  14. Kaye, because of the amount that you, being one person, has to do, you might ought to think about just growing the small garden beside your house!!!!! You are going to get down and not be able to do anything hardly!!!!

  15. Bless your heart. So sorry about your fence. God bless you for keeping your sense of humor!! Not funny, I know, but you'll get through. I gave up because the squirrels dug everything I planted. I do have 1 ginger plant they missed, but this was the 4th time I planted!!! Purslane is supposed to be edible and good for you. Maybe you could harvest and can? I'm going to check it out. I don't have but I will know!! Love to mom when you see her. Keep the faith, Kay.. I know you do. You're doing a wonderful job!! Much love.
