This is my garden tour for the first day of summer.
Sandy Bottom Homestead was started to supplement our food supply. By Gardening and raising chickens we have been able to meet that goal and start to surpass it. Follow us as we continue to build out our homestead and become better gardeners.

  1. I love your garden. I'm in Wisconsin, zone 5a/5b. I love how you explain everything. I watched your bee video and I'm kinda jealous. I'm allergic to bees but I would love to have bees on my property. They are amazing to watch. I love seeing all the different plants you have.

  2. I've been picking the bells a little bit before full maturity, and there's more flowers popping out. So far we've been getting an average of 12 bells per plant. Ben it's looking like we're gonna have a much warmer week this entire week so stay cool!

  3. The heavy rains lately have my tomatoes starting to split. I pick early and let them turn ripe in the house!!! Yellow Squash and zucchinis fighting bugs. New bed of squash is growing. I live close to you so pretty much same scenario. I have had some seeds come up not what I planted. I have heard about mixed seed packs. Have a great week!!
