Awesome!👌
A confidence boost is what we mean to convey. Well I do anyway. Experiment, I'll watch and listen and try if I can afford it.
Hi Mike! I got my first Thai Dragon chili popped out. Only on Kratky and so lush already. Never have had this kind of success. Thank you ever so much. Looking forward to a little easy dirt stuff from you too now.
Good morning I have a question I recall a video that you mentioned that are very sweet microgreens I think you said we can add it to make teas and thing sweet was it corn something seeds.
Thanks Mike. Appreciate all that you do. 🙏🏻
We all have failures, I’m the worst at finding ways to crush hope? I learn enough to find the next trap 😂keep that good good coming 👍🏻
I have been growing hydroponic in the rain gutters for a while now. Even under a crappy light in a small space we have plenty of bok choy, cabbage, and basil. We grow until they start to get bitter and then replace the plants. It is pretty much a non stop harvest.
At least if you are doing something that’s more than most of the people who are not doing anything. The majority of people I know don’t grow food and are not even interested.
My tween kids are growing hydroponic basils and strawberries. There is a sense of pride they feel that they can’t get anywhere else. 😊❤ 🪴
You’re so right! Thanks for sharing everything you’ve learned. Giving families the opportunity to grow their own food is a wonderful thing.
Interesting how you learn the most after you’ve failed. I think that goes for almost anything in life.
I absolutely love this channel! If there's even one kid who's going to bedschool with a full belly as a result, it's well worth it! God bless you guys!
I'm learning lots of things about my home environment. I found mold because my seedlings kept failing. I'm learning I depended on my (late) worm bin to start a lot of seeds because the worms would eat up the fungus attacking the seeds as the seeds grow and kept them actually healthy. Starting seeds without soil makes me realize how much time passes before a seedling actually forms 2nd leaves. Sometimes it feels like an eternity, then I realize a lot of seeds spend that time growing beneath the soil , thickening up, before it pushes out, and then pop out the second leaves, but I'm seeing the naked process from the start. I keep thinking, "Why are my seedlings still so skinny and not growing!?!" But they are just doing that growing where I cannot see it, from the inside out.
Ive got some soil-filled totes in my back yard with some volunteer pepper seeds, but they are't growing, because it is too shady. I'm glad they showed me this before I committed my precious Etsy seeds to those spaces. I thought " Hey, they have new potting mix and all, why aren't they thriving".. Not enough sun. But my bok choi seedlings seem to be doing okay in the same space in their floating nursery…
There are a lot of changes in perspective I am going thru, and each time I feel like I am failing. But I have to realize that as bad as it feels, that if I'm Failing, I should be also Learning. What went wrong? When, why, how? What could I have done differently. If I can't change what I've done, then what else happened that I need to know about.
I have both, soil and hydroponics. Gardening Is My Therapy💞 It keeps me grounded, time to reflect and problem solving, or..work off some steam. Failure is a result of giving up, we learn by our mistakes, never give up and that in it's self is a win!
We just went through a storm that tore up a lot, our power was out three days. The heat index was over 110 and yes, it was miserable! I now have house repairs to make, not sure how I'll manage, but I Have Faith💞
Mike, as a biologist I view your "failure" to rob that ecosystem of its soil to be a blessing! If everybody took a bed's worth of soil from the natural places, would there be any natural places left?! I vote for a compost pile instead! With worms. 😊

Thanks to you i just harvested my first lettuce! I also have bok choi. Not sure when to harvest that. Lol. From the Netherlands, thank you so much.🎉
I’ve learned so much from watching your channel. I appreciate all of the ideas and love how you mention things your viewers have had success with too! I’m from northern Michigan and my goal is to not need to go to the produce section at grocery stores! Or at least minimize my trips for produce. I work 12 hr shifts in healthcare so hydroponics has been great for me and my family my plants are all doing great and have minimal maintenance on my heavy work weeks! I can’t imagine how much work you put into your channel but just want to say I appreciate it very much. Me and my family will have a great harvest this year and it is my first time trying gardening in general!
Thank you for your help. As of today🙏🏻I have 🍅🥒🫑🧄🫚🥔🌶️🍓basil, rosemary, thyme, dill, 🥬 and lemon balm, mint. It’s all in buckets and pots because I don’t have a yard. My porches and windows are jungles 😂❤🙏🏻❤️Thank you so very much ❤
I recently found you. Love your channel. I grow in the ground, in pots, and am starting to grow micro greens and sprouts but I told my husband he may starve if he counts on me to feed us. I live in sandy north Florida!
2:16 yes I understand sandy soil. Florida girl here
Because of your channel (& a few others) today I inspired a patient to start a garden! I have patients on fixed income! Being to encourage them to try growing a few things dos much more than grow seeds … it will get them moving, give the purpose and improve their health! They didn't teach this in med school! Thanks is not enough for all you do to provide these videos. You also inspire creative ways to grow food! God bless you and your wife beyond your prayers! 💜👩🏽⚕️👩🏽🌾
Hey Mike Manis Jesse I've been trying to grow some microgreens but especially trying to grow some Alfalfa from a wife I got the Alfalfa seeds from a not going to say where cuz I don't know if you want to say that but anyway I could not get them they come up they did fine I put them in a demand Coco coir in the little dishes like you've made but they just kind of spotty come up and they didn't get any size on what am I doing wrong can you somebody relay that to him or can you see it and tell me something
Hey Mike Jesse again maybe you can do a video on sprouts and a jar if you have time I definitely will be watching
Any way you can help people get growing their own food for cheap or free is great, keep it up! You are very inspiring.
