Amazing video🌹🌹
That’s to funny my husband ordered blueberries plants the other day ❤ thanks for sharing
Are you able to easily propagate them from the first plants? I've purchased 2 blueberry bushes this year, I was hoping that I could root and plant a few cuttings from these next year.
Good morning Gary! I'm growing blueberries and this year I have 3 of them. However only 1 had buds, they turned brown at the bottom of the bud, dried up and fell off. The other 2 plants don't have any buds. Now I have raspberry for the second year, but it's not doing anything. I have only 1 raspberry, do I need more? I also have 1 cherry (I'm starting a fresh since we just moved). Can you please do a video on cherry and raspberry? Thank you!
Thanks for the tips!
I think this is gonna push me to grab up what’s left at the local box store.
How do y’all feel about propagation to try and get more even sooner?
Gary, I was given 2 pieces of a thornless blackberry bush . I planted it in a grow bag because I was told it would be invasive. It’s growing really well and has berries on it already. I’m in zone 7b will I need to wrap the bag in the winter to insulate it. It’s hard to know my winter last year we were still in shorts.

Perfect timing as just bought 2, patriot & blue ray, I'm in south east UK. Thank you for your advice.
What veriety is the late blooming blue berry you have??
👍
I like the strategy of having different varieties. I haven't grown any kind of berries yet, but is surely will. I expect birds to be a problem, so I'd plan for protection as I'm planning a berry area. Thanks Gary!
How do you grow blueberries from seeds? That is the harder part for me.
Do you ever freeze extra berries for breakfast shakes? I personally am not a fan of breakfast shakes, but my wife loves Kale shakes with miscellaneous berries. We freeze extra kale as well when it's crazy hot in the summer. When all the fruits and vegetables go into mush in the end, it proves viable for me. Understandably though, a lot of us probably have limited freezer space :).
Wow perfect timing I just top dressed my plants with peat moss and spent coffee grounds because I noticed all my buds were falling off.
Looking forward to your container blueberry tips!
Do all the plants bloom at the same time for cross pollination? If not, do I need two early varieties, two mid season varieties, two late season varieties?
Would love to see the follow-on with blueberries in containers. Right now, I have 3 young plants in grow bags. I want to be able to bring them next to the house during winter until they get bigger/stronger. I did purchase cold hardy varieties – ones that are supposed to tolerate zones colder than mine. So – fingers crossed. 😃
Thank you for this video!!!! I need HELP!!! Our newly planted blueberries leaves look like they have fungus! We live in Zone 5, in central IL. We purchased three different 5 gal varies in April. Due to severe weather situations (cold temps, severe storms, hail, tornado warnings) we kept them in our garage & watered them daily (advice from anther video for new blueberries). They didn't didn't get planted until late May. Our soil PH is alkaline, we added sulfur, Canadian peat, compost, a fertilizer for acidic soil to our rich black soil when they were planted. We have a phone app to diagnose plant problems & it said they have a fungus, leaf spot. When the leaves get brown areas, they are removed. I watched some of your former videos & sprayed them with a copper spray & they are due to have another copper spray this evening. I also did a hydrogen peroxide soil drench 2 days ago for the roots for the fungus. I have a PH monitor & soil still has a High PH. I did the 1 c. vinegar to I gal water per plant then end of last week. We are new to planting blueberries as you may have guessed. Could you offer anymore advice?
Once again, I have NEVER done a soil test. We have 5 now, blueberries. They are planted in soil. The only thing I do, and this is a blueberry patch about 5 years old and bears a great harvest, Is to save spent coffee, not grounds, but leftover coffee itself, water it down by adding the same amount of filtered water from a Berkey filter in a half gallon jar and water each bush 2-3 times during late winter ( SE VA, coastal) we dont freeze often here. I dont even fertilize. Sometimes a net depending on bird pressure. They are near our patio door, well traveled, so not too too mnay birds. Thats it. Guess I am lucky.
Lol, i have blueberry bird poop on my squash leaves 😂😂😂😂
Hi Gary, just got back from a 10 days trip and my garden looks terrific. I heard it rained every other day since I left. My blueberries are in their second year. The first year i couldn't bring myself to take the fruits off they were so big and juicy looking now they are even bigger we can't always listen to other people opinions not taking first fruits off didn't stop my plants from spreading
In New Jersey zone 7 garden state👍love your channel. Keeping it simple no over stressing or over loving slow and steady😊🥕🍉🥦🥒🌻😅
Hey Gary. I waited to long to pick my sugar snap peas. They are more like pea pods with big peas in them. I never let them get this big because I like them when there flat and small . Are these now regular peas if I shell them?? Thanks for sharing and being there for us
Thanks for this Timely video, I just got a couple plants and have not yet planted them. I had some a few yrs ago but I think the deer mowed them over. This time I will try them in one of my raised beds and am in the process of fencing the area. I do have a bird issue, in fact the new plants had some ripe berries and now they are gone.
Hey Gary I have another question. My beets have grat tops and now are going to seed but the root/ beet are very small 1/2 inch,I planted them in March in a small hoop row.I watered everyday or every other there’s no rot just bushy tops with seeds forming
Your videos help me. Have purchased from you, almost time to again!
Love blueberries. Have you done a rasberry video and keeping thorn bushes out!
Hi Gary, my greenhouse is primarily in ground beds. Should I mulch inside there? I haven’t been. Thinking maybe it will also help with powdery mildew? Thanks
Your blueberries look great. I noticed that cottonseed meal helps lower the ph and the at least 2 varieties tip that you mentioned really helped boost my blueberries this year.
I have 5 blueberry bushes. If I didn't put an insect netting over them the birds would eat every single ripe blueberry. It's really frustrating because bees somehow get caught behind the netting and I have to let them out every day. I live in middle TN. However, I really love eating them so it's worth the added work.
