Last November we prepped the stone raised beds around the gazebo for planting this spring. And considering that it was a light winter and early spring—we were able to plant up the gardens well before the suggested planting date, which typically is at the end of May.
Special thanks to @EspomaOrganic for partnering with us on this video. We ended up using their Raised Bed Mix, Land and Sea Compost, Potting Mix, Biotone, and their Seed Mix for this project. Links to items below:

Beautiful plantings 💯
Personally, for the raised bed I would go, long term, for low growing shrubs. The watering in this situation is going to be too intense. Raised beds get super dry and if you have a very hot summer, it's going to be a lot of work, more so with wind and full sun. You are travelling lots and have animals eating crops. If you grow single, low, ground cover roses, rosemary, lavender, salvia or similar – whatever shrub plants that are hardy enough to survve the snow and cold.the roots will hopefully reach down into the soil under the beds and look after themselves. I wouldn't put fruit or veg in that bed, romantic, but I don't think it's practical.
Nice beds. The Gazebo is aging, in color, with grace. Ahhhh…. Safe travels……. 🚴🏽♀️.. 💕 Think about getting Sander some all-weather seat cushions, for cold and hot, raised bed seating.❄️⛄🌞😎Enjoyed the video.
Your land is a piece of heaven 😊😊😊
That's really fun. I do wonder whether another commenter is right about low growing herbal shrubs being easiest long-term, but I like the idea of veggies too.
I wonder how the horrible forest fire air has affected you guys. I assume this was filmed prior to it coming south
You must spend 10X the cost of buying organic vegetables
It would take multiple decades before that pays for itself! Growing organic isn’t elaborate or complicated or expensive on the contrary growing organic is simple & inexpensive & uncomplicated … like why complicate it? Also how about irrigation? 💯 be better off with herbs
I’m surprised you can’t plant the cold weather stuff now
Community garden looks great. Thank you Ms. Summer. 🌸💚🙃
Borage is extremely invasive and fast-growing. I'm afraid it's gonna take over that space completely and prevent other nearby plants from growing in a matter of weeks.
It’s a lovely gazebo. Will you pump water up from the pond for irrigation?
