Hi everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my channel!
We’re doing something a bit different today. We’re headed to the great outdoors!!! Well, my backyard anyways LOL. So I previously mentioned that I picked out a beautiful new planter for my patio. It was my Mother’s Day gift! And in this video we’ll be planting it up!!!!! I picked out some gorgeous flowers/plants for this planter. And in addition, you’ll get to meet my son. He joined me in creating this pretty container garden.
I also will take you for a walk around my yard. I’ll show you what plantings I’ve been up to. You’ll also see my other hobby, bird watching/feeding.
I had a great time filming this with my son and I really hope you enjoy this video!

Hi Gena and Adison! Sorry if I spelled your name wrong! This was so fun to watch you two work together! Just loved it 🙂 The planter looks amazing and I bet that sedum will get long and overflow! Can't wait to see the before and afters…..the colors are so pretty! Great job :)….Adison you are so sweet like your mom…she must be so so proud if you 🙂 Enjoyed the yard tour as well….nice space….I would love raspberries! Lovely yard! It was nice to "meet" your son, I remember you mentioning him on N-R. The planter came out beautiful! Sometimes those bagged soils can be a bit heavy for containers, so if you find yourself having issues, try amending with a bit of perlite or vermiculite. I love the white planter, though!
I'm doing a little container & raised bed garden with some veggies. My peas and runner beans finally started growing just in time for it to get too hot for them lol. I've got a dwarf blackberry and blueberry to put in containers as well as a lingonberry and a decorative elderberry (lemony lace elderberry, it's gorgeous!). Trying potatoes and sweet potatoes in pots, tomatoes, peppers, hopefully some beans and cowpeas and a squash and cucumber. I'm way behind after my grandmother's recent hospitalization and passing but that's OK.

The planter is so pretty with all the colors! We have a finch feeder and love watching the little yellow birds. So cute! Nice to meet your son and how nice that he helped you and was willing to be in the video. 💚
Love your Mother’s Day planter and it looks so pretty. Your son was so concerned about doing things the correct way. He’ll be a pro after this experience. It was lovely to have him work with you.

Wat een mooie samenwerking samen met je knappe zoon. Het is prachtig geworden, de kleuren zijn heel mooi. Omdat het ook in je moederdag kado zit, is het helemaal mooi.

Hi Gena, it was so nice meeting your son. What a wonderful Mother's Day gift project you'll put together. It turned out so pretty. Our yard consist of roses, butterfly garden area. I have bird and hummingbird feeders. Thank you for sharing your outside area with us. I loved seeing all the different birds that come by your home. Have a great day❤
Like you, your son has a kind and gentle quality. My one tip might be to take out the grass around the trees, mulch and edge. It makes mowing easier and less water competition. You can try transplanting the dug up sod from that area to your bear spots.

Hi Gena! Guess what…I'm a birder too. Can't have a gold finch feeder anymore because the bears climb the tree and take it down and destroy it so…Spring and Summer I can only do hummingbird feeders. So nice to meet Addison ! He looks about the age of our youngest son. My son isn't into plants either buts he's very tall so he helps me hang up stuff and move plants. We also have an elementary school right behind us! So cool to see your yard and hear your plans. The container looks great!

Hi Gena, thanks so much for showing us your yard, I can just visualise how it will look in say 5 years when all the fruit trees are grown as well as all the other plants you’ve put in. Gardening is so rewarding and seeing the end result is very satisfying. I especially loved seeing the birds and squirrels feeding, so cute! I look forward to seeing an update, keep us posted..

It was so nice to see the birds and squirrels at the end of the video. I feed my all the sqrirrels outside my apartment building and in my area. They see me and come running over. It always bring such joy to my day!
I enjoyed this video. It was nice to meet your son. You picked wonderful things for your mother's day present. I love the pot. You should find room in yard for the Daisies and the salvia this fall. They are perennials and they should come back you're after year. Please take the mint out of your herb garden. It will do very well in a pot of It's own. If you leave it in your wonderful garden bed. It will take over and you will never get it out of there. When it blooms the bees will go wild. I have half barrels in my Yard for Mint. I could set for hours and watch the birds and sqgirls you have a lovely shut up. I'm sure you understood what I meant to say darn speech to text.😅
Hi Gena, your mixed planter is beautiful! But my one advice is you may have to remove the Lantana plant because it grows very aggressively and will dominate all the other plants. I learned that last summer.😊
Awe how nice to do a video with your son, will make a gardener out of him yet! The container looks gorgeous, you have the magic touch. Interested in your bird set up? We put up a bird feeder once and only attracted grackles 😕

I'm always nervous to pair different bold colors together but I think I'll have to change that because I adore how this planter turned out, it's absolutely fabulous💖👏
