  1. Hi JB, quick question, what would you recommend for bell peppers and long sweet peppers size containers to grow in my poly tunnel they’re actually in 4 L pots at the moment should I go bigger? Thanks a lot

  2. I used to get hayfever so bad I couldn't drive to work for a week. My Grandad told me to cut the grass early in the year and to nettle myself too. I though he was crazy but it worked. Hasn't bothered me in about 12 years.

  3. Plots are looking fab. Lovely catch-up. Always a joy when seed sown in situ germinate and romp away.

Do include the compost heaps when updating. What you’re putting in, etc. They are vital and I need constant encouragement… 😩

  4. I've been doing the same open vents in the morning and then closing them later to cold for this time of year at night

  5. Hi jb it’s all looking great I think you’ve done your family proud when they come back to the allotment lv Irene 😘 xx

  6. my daughter has confirmed severe allergy to all grass and tree pollen and so the only way I know that works for her is to start taking the antihistamines at least a month before spring – then her symptoms are minimised

  7. Allotment is looking great! I have bad hayfever but i find having a Kenalog Injection helps! You can get this from a private clinic or from a chemist. 💚

  8. Great for crafting (the jute twine) but I struggle to make it last a season as it rots so quickly. I use cotton or hemp twine for the serious stuff like building bean frames where I don't what them to fall apart LOL

  9. Thanks for the up-to-date catch-up JB. I have to keep reminding myself to notice all that I have achieved in the garden and not just all those things I still need to do. I only popped indoors quickly to get lunch and ended up relaxing and watching your video, taking time to enjoy hearing how things are going on your allotment. I used to set my expectations too high with gardening on what I should get done, rather than seeing it as a way of life, just enjoying making some progress. Nowadays I have a main focus of something I really want to achieve in the garden each day and anything else is a bonus. I love that special time in the mornings, checking all the plants and just being in the moment. It is an important time for the plants as well as us! I created an Asparagus bed this morning. 3 years until I will be able to harvest it, as I have grown the asparagus from seed. Gardening definitely teaches us to be patient! Hope you manage to beat the hay fever problem. Looking forward to the next Potty Mouth live.

  10. Glad that Steve’s widow has been able to read the comments we have been leaving, hope it is a small comfort to her how much Steve will be missed by us and how much he helped us. My friend had really bad hay fever and she got an jap at the doctors that helped her no end, can’t give you anymore info than that I’m afraid. Thank you for the video as always.

  11. i am on strong antihistamines from GP called fexofenadine, so far they are good, also have BMS too so very painful but I still try and go out early morn or late eve, have shower straight after being in garden also have dehumidifiers on air purifier along with UV. Your parsnips look same size as mine JB, I wonder if spinach died because too much nitrate from too much manure?

  12. I have a clever lab that slides open the door of my greenhouse every morning . So he can go in and lie down after his breakfast . But he also does it at night I've had to engineer a clothes peg wedge in the evening to kind of lock it in place but now he manages to pull the peg out . I thought it was my hubster leaving it open until we looked on our security camera the blooming pupper 😂😂

  13. I've been sneezing and itching the last month, and this week wasn't entirely there. Boyfriend mentioned if I might have hay-fever, never knew brain fog was a related thing. But it fits.

  14. Hi jb it has been cold at night still but I still put my plants in the ground. Chillies sweet peppers aubergines tomatoes and cucumbers and they are thriving now. I have got nearly all my squash in ground too. I just thought I am just going to do it. So they may be small but I just hoping and praying that they survive and grow. We shall see. The toms are growing away now and runner beans and squash. It’s first time I have taken a risk. So I will let you know how I get on. 👍🙋🏻

  15. All your hard work is paying off JB, everything is looking great! Thanks for sharing a lovely memory of Steve with the twine too – it’s the little things that often spark a fond memory isn’t it 😊

  16. The pollen is epic at the moment. My hayfever started around a month earlier than usual and my antihistamine seems about as much use as a tictac.

My parsnips look about the same as yours but they'll soon catch up with everyone elses.

  17. Your doing a great job and the plots show it. Your parsnips are doing better than mine im on my 4th attempt and nothing 😂. Im glad my greenhouse is in the garden im in the tony club and having a wonder down there in my pjs

  18. Bee pollen and local honey, not saying it will help you but it has definitely help my 2 son's one was so bad he couldn't go out and when he had to he just couldn't see his eyes wer that bad. U have to take it all year around. 😊
Can u use neem oil on flowers not jus vegetables

  19. I've been having brain fog and tiredness, it definitely impacts me at work worst of all. I switched antihistamines because I thought it might be that, even though it was a non-drowsy antihistamine some people still find it makes them drowsy (dumb to call it non-drowsy but there we are) although it's not since I'm back on the same ones I took last year. I think I need to go to the Doctors to get a stronger one probably. I went on a foraging course and the instructor said putting elderflower blossoms by your pillow was supposed to help you immunise yourself to pollen, I haven't tried it and you never know with these old remedies if they're real or superstition until you try it.

  20. I was amazed at the germination speed of my Borlotti, rattlesnake, and Matilda pole beans. My runner beans might need help but boy, the others just took off. The rest of the garden…. Meh…. Lol! You’re doing wonders with all the space you have taken on. Wow.🇨🇦❤️👩‍🌾

  21. Nice touch for Steve his wife left a message for me on my sweet peas it started me off all over again
Them saucers look just about right for your chillies looks like you are going to have a very good year

  22. I've not put out my tomatoes yet, because it's been so cold at night. I've started hardening off, with the warm days, but I have so much anxiety about putting out my tomatoes this year. Normally I put them out mid to late May.

I put out my pumpkins, just to test the water, I don't want to allot of them, I saved them from Tesco pumpkins, so i don't plan on eating them, just to use them as decoration, and compost. Great ground cover.

  23. I had to place blankets over all of my plants tonight due to a frost threat. I wish i had a greenhouse! Lucky you❤️

  24. Absolutely agree on the netting step to weeding 😐.
Also, sad to hear of Steve’s passing. I didn’t know he had a YT channel, though knew him from our allotment site. Incredibly sad 😢

  25. very nice progress JB , I prefer watering in the morning as it makes for healthier plants and they can take up the water and the ground dries up again before the slugs come out

  26. So sorry to hear your hayfever has been so bad 😢 my boss had an injection last year which last 3 months and she said it was amazing! No hayfever symptoms at all once she'd had it!

  27. Lovely to hear that Steve's widow Anne has seen what a huge inpact Steve had on our gardening community. He will be missed by many many people and like many I planted something (a beautiful Geum 'Mai Tai') and named it Steve.
I loved this video, just a relaxed meander around the plots and as some have said about your uncle's plot just keep it worked and looking like it's not been abandoned. Perhaps even putting more cover down on the beds so when your aunt and uncle are back on site it won't be too daunting and they can hit the ground running. You are doing a great job all round 👍👍👍

  28. I’m not sure if you have tried this but for quite a few people- raw honey, a tablespoon per day & hay fever no more! It has to be local to ensure its specific to pollens in your area. Natural & tasty! If it works for you, you can add bee keeping to your channel! 🐝 Unless of course you are allergic to 🐝 🐝 🐝
