  1. Thanks Ivan for the tips on reusing compost. Just to let everyone know lidl are still selling seeds for 29p. Thanks for sharing.

  2. We're suppose to hit 100F next week so time to get my shade clothe up for the summer. I won't be planting again until time for fall. It gets too hot for most plants here in Texas. It also gets too hot for most gardeners. It's hard to get out and take care of everything,

  3. Thanks Ivan, for more great seed sowing tips, I'll be watching the carrot reveal. Take care and all the best. Stevie

  4. Mostly I use containers for my plans and reuse my soil and have done for years but if your plant has diseases throw the soil away as the disease could be in the soil , Just get rid of as many old roots as you can add bone meal or fish blood and bone mix it well , can use it straight away or put it in used compost bags for use later ( don't plant the same type of plants eg growing potato's in the same soil as you just grew potato's in if using the soil right away in case of disease and other factors ) Top channel 👍

  5. Those containers look great for shallow rooted veg. I have to admit, I'm one of those people who meticulously plant out carrot seeds with perfect spacing, one per hole. For some reason, I always have perfect germination with carrots so it works for me. And the empath in me hates having to make choices about which seedlings to 'murder' 😂 Love the cliff hanger ending!

  6. Hi Ivan. Thanks for another helpful video, and may I ask another question please? You said you put 'fertiliser' into the old compost. What is the fertilizer please? (Please excuse dumb question; I am a new gardner). I am guessing it may be the fish, blood and bone? If so, could you possibly advise of an alternative as I am unable to use that (sorry it makes me feel sick, stupid I know, but I can't help it. Also I am vegetarian.) Is it possible to use egg shells or kitchen scraps to fertilize old compost? Or is there an off shelf alternative? Thank you for your help.
