  1. James!!!! I bought a huge bag of surround kaolin clay. Followed the three cup rule. My trees leaves are turning straight black. WHYYYY 😢😢😢😢

  2. Haha, OMGosh, Tuck at the end poking his head thru the cucumber plant to get his cucumber snack you gave him, LOL!! He is so cute!! 🥰🥰

  3. Thank you for all the great information! I was wondering about the companions to cucumber and you addressed it here, THANKS JAMES!!

  4. I just need to love on you and pup. Great info. Cucumber beetles! 🫣

  5. Cukes always frustrated me. I didn't know u don't get a bountiful harvest letting them go longer. Changing my game plan this year! Thanks. Love to Tuck.

  6. Hi mate.
Cucumber beetles I've never seen any so I guess we are so lucky over here in NZ.
I grow my cucumbers, melons and other cantaloupe type things in raised beds.
The water table is just over 18" below my beds and I get fantastic crops from all.
My problem is water rats, they swim up my trenches that I first dug to help drain this once swamp.
Yellow jackets wasp are also a problem, these are bombed as soon as they are located.
Love your doco mate, It's nice to see how others are doing what I do on the other side of the world.

  7. Thank you very much for this other great video. Could you do a video about melon and watermelon, the difference of gowing, if it's great to grow it on treillis and other questions, and tuck is very greedy those time, and become the biggest disease in the garden his tooth won't go through their skin

  8. Can you grow it in a ten gallon pot? I wonder if you're going to have to fertilize it more

  9. Excellent video as always and I learned a few new things. I will NEVER let a cuke ripen on the vine again. Thank you for what you do. Hearts for Tuck 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

  10. I'm so glad I watched your videos about cucumbers before planting them for the first time. I wouldn't have known to start the seeds later than others or to not let them ripen on the vine without your help.

  11. Hi James I am your silent follower over few years. And every time you have new video I always watched . I have enjoyed watching your videos about gardening…

I want to ask about tomato, what is the remedy if the tomato is attacking of blight? I hope you response my question.

Thank you so much in advance…

  12. Curious in NZ- never have my peas attacked by birds. Blackbirds do a number on my vege beds generally though. I use the netting like you do. Love your work. Very informative.

  13. What do you do with the non ripe cucumbers when you pick them early? Is your goal to make sure that the plant produces tons of cucumbers and then letting them grow to a full ripe?

  14. Aphids destroyed the seed leaves on all of my cucumber plants. The true leaves came in just in time. Energy diverted. They seem to be doing alright.

Just so you know, because of your dog's love of cucumbers… I always just know you as the cucumber guy haha. Plenty of other good info. That is just the thing I think of first 😛

  15. You my friend, are the new King of Gardening for beginners!! I love it here and have gotten so much valuable info from you. Best Gardening Value for a few years now for me! And THANKYOU to Tuck, he's got me planting things just for my pooch as well! 💞

  16. Thank you James. As always your videos are top notch and full of great tips for success.

  17. hey hope you're doing ok with the smoke.. don't work too hard outside… hopefully this starts clearing up in the next couple days.

  18. Sir I still have trouble watching your videos. They “freeze” and show pics with the voiceover playing in the background. Am I the only one?

  19. I planted my cucumbers on 20th may and now they are just sitting there and I don’t see any progress. Even the soo yoo long. I started from seeds again now with direct sowing.

  20. Hi James. Thanks for the video. I live in Portugal; this is my second growing season. I bought cucumber plants from the market, so no idea of the variety. 1 plant is about 5 feet tall, and I had about 4 cucumbers. Then a heat wave seemed to stop production for a few weeks. 1 is 2 feet, 1 is 1 1/2 foot, the other 3 are only about 6 inches and they simply aren’t producing any vines. Same thing happened last year, although the non growers started growing in autumn and produced a couple each. Any ideas? I’ve been organic vegetarian gardening for 60 years, but several new challenges here in the hot Algarve.

  21. I've found cucumbers to be so finicky…every year I have problems. just today I see my leaves turning yellow… but it's gotten really cold out. So maybe that is the problem. 🤷‍♀️ I was just going to fertileze with comfrey tea and kelp extract
