I foraged some flowers from the garden and fried them up for lunch, essentially what my brother in law Miks calls “CRISIS FOOD”. There is free food everywhere, you just have to know where to look and what to do! So Elina (brother-in-law’s partner) show me how to do it.
HOW TO MAKE FRIED FLOWERS:
1) Choose the Right Flower. In this case, Dandelions are great for the task – they’re semi sweet, slightly nutty.
2) Collect flowers, as many as you feel like eating.
3) Get rid of the stem! The stem has a milky white liquid that is quite bitter. Pull the stem off as close to the flower as possible!
4) Get two bowls: whisked egg, a seasoned flour (salt and white pepper).
5) Dredge each flower like this: egg, flour, egg.

Get a frying pan or @razorgriddle4317 griddle heated to a medium temp, add a lug of olive oil, and fry the dandelions (or daisies or whatever) for about a minute on each side until golden and crispy!

Season with salt and have as a snack, or go hard and plate it up in some mad way! Basically, get out there and see what some foraging will get you! Its a super fun way to REALLY make the most of all that summer foliage!
