Diatomaceous earth sprinkling does wonders too. Surround WP if you get it on the other side of the pond, is even better with smaller and sharper granules due to kaolin
Now, to continue zero waste policy, what to make with those slugs? One time there was so many I could hardly walk on ground without slipping on them while they were swarming on every inch. Suppose I could crush them and make fertiliser out of slugs? May w that would be a good stuff to bury into a hole for future plantings? Mashed slugs fertilizer?

I don't like killing them.
I'll be doing just that tomorrow when I go down the allotment.
