I met up with the supremely talented garden designer Austin Eischeid at Northwind Perennial Farm in Burlington, Wisconsin, and asked him to share some of his favorite perennials that more people should know about.
Northwind Perennial Farm, co-owned by Roy Diblik (Austin’s mentor) does not ship plants but they sell a wide variety of hard-to-find plants to customers from around the Midwest. Find out more here: https://www.northwindperennialfarm.com

Good morning gorgeous Erin! Thank you for all your help and great advice. Question: do you separate your corms when growing jumpstarts? ie listris, etc. I grew 3 corms per 1 g nursery pots.
Thank you!!
Mature height in people doesn’t matter as it does with plants lol
Terrific video! Thank you!
Wonderful video🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank you for interviewing Austin! Great to see what his favorites are
I've been on the lookout for shredded umbrella plants for a while…they are one of those plants that you just want to reach out and touch. I love that Austin not only recommended some great plants but also gave suggestions on how to use them in the garden. My list just got longer 🙃
Thanks Erin. 🌷💚🙃
That Deschampsia "Gold Tau' Tufted hair grass would look great planted in a large head planter! I love the spikey look it would add to one of those. I enjoyed listening to Austin talk about his favorite perennials. Thank you, Erin, for doing this interview with him. Have a fun Memorial weekend! ~Margie🤗💐
Thank you so much! My favorite designer with my favorite Gardner how perfect can that get! I have been trying to copy his designs in my yard for a year or so. Nice to see him talk about some of his favorite plants I never heard of and will be adding soon.
Great job Erin…snagging a garden designer 👩🏽🎨 🤩 I wrote these on my wish list. I also just received a clematis I forgot I ordered 😍 Happy gardening 🤗🌱
Wonderful video! Wonderful favorite suggestions from Austin! Thank you Erin!!
Wonderful video, great to hear about dry shade plants. Umbrella Plant and Autumn Bride have been on my list for a couple of years, always on the lookout for them!
What a great presentation. There are NO nurseries within 50 miles at least near our home, that offer anything but the already blooming( forced in a greenhouse) perennials pushed by the big name companies. Wish I could find a nursery like Roy’s.
Thank you! Love the intro to these plants
Definitely need some of those for my dry part shade area. A trip to Northwind is in order!
I love to hear new page recommendations! Thanks. I feel sorry for folks who can't grow heuchera. Mine are evergreen (Vancouver BC Canada) and flourish and spread!
Following 🌼🐝 thanks for referring

great ideas!
thank you!
Watching this video prompts me to make this observation, somewhat unique on YouTube: you never promote yourself, you promote the people and things around you.
What a great list of unique plants 🌱. That shredded umbrella plant is now on my list! Thanks, Erin😊
Dam this dide knows his plants!
One of my favorite things: watching your videos, and writing down the great plants you show us, for the future! Thanks, Erin.
Thankyou for this Erin🙂🙂🙂
Where can we find these beauties, especially the shredded umbrella. ???
He has a good eye on things. Hope the interview will be much longer.
Thanks for great interview. Nice supplement to program on Roy's channel
Great interview. I live about 15 minutes from Northwind and I think I need to go buy some of those Shredded Umbrella plants.
❤
shredded umbrella is a cutie
Very interesting interview.
Enjoyed the video thank you ( u k )
Wow Erin! Thanks so much for that. It was so informative. Going to watch it multiple times to make sure I soak it all in. Will be following Austin.
I grow half of what he showed and now I want the other half 😂
Loved this one! Thank you!
Such amazing plants!!!
You are acting like I would have acted if I got to meet Eddie Van Halen…
👍❤️😊
It's probably the only place I can find the Alchemia 'Hella'. Maybe I'll make that trip.
AWESOME new varieties for me to try that I've never heard of! THANK you Erin and Austin for this informative video! Will DEFinately check out Austin's designs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video. I have Bowman's root and love it.

Well this totally explains why my Carnival Watermelon Huchera is the only one that keeps coming back robustly. Thanks for the info!!
