Got some bare root raspberry canes (Glen ample and tullamen) from J Parkers at the of January/Feb and planted them out in a fresh raised bed which had a good amount well rotted horse manure in it.
After a little while:
– a couple sprouts came about on a few
– 2 shooted from the root ball (both right next to existing cane)
– the rest did nothing at all
Now everything has died, all shoots. I have scrapped the canes and some show a little green in the canes. And I have dug up everyone to check and there is no new root growth on any of them, at all.
I ensured the bed was well draining and watered well in the dry spells.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
