Last night I was staring at a Raphidophora cutting that my friend @theofficialbrett just gave me and the way the leaves were overlapping each other you could sort of see through them like the opacity was at 50%. Did some sketches, simplified the leaves and laid out this painting. When I was in Auckland we went to an exhibit of paintings by Gordon Walters, I became very inspired by his simple shapes and subtle illusion. Can’t wait to finish this #wip !
