Not clickbait. Just real gardening information. This is hands down the most important information I’ve ever shared about establishing a highly productive garden or food forest garden in the Northern Hemisphere. Invert direction if located in the southern hemisphere

  1. So if I'm in the southern hemisphere i need to plant my taller plants in the southern end?

  2. Most informative and concise, thanks!
Shall move plum tree and other fruit plants along that North side of the house and then begin the process of getting all the 4ft raised beds moved to areas where it will be most advantageous to food progress. There's a lot of preparation to be done so best get shifting if I want things back to good strong good production by next spring.
Currently dealing with a massive infestation of ants & it's so overwhelming because they've eaten into everything and encouraged their whole colonies to my garden and have spoiled my carrot crop now.. definitely time to take serious action.
There's no more miss nice girl now.. not since they have got into my glorious sweetcorn crops!
Appreciate the info in all your vids dude. You rock!
Have you any advice re ant problems? 😃✌

  3. Awesome. In many cases one would want deciduous trees in the south to passively shade ones home in the summer and heat in the winter.

I'd plant evergreen in the north.

    Awesome video. Thanks

  4. I think he should make it clear that he lives in the northern hemisphere. And assumes everyone else does also. If you live in Southern hemisphere, Entire principle should be reversed.

  5. Do you have somewhere on your page that we can send you gifts of appreciation? Between this and a few other of your videos I was able finally to get out today and get some things in the ground. I've been watching so many of your videos as I'm healing up from my hip replacement and they are super super helpful! Like real solutions to problems. I used your box idea today. Thank you again!!!

  6. I live in AZ where the west sun is brutal…..in my home I avoid the west facing windows with plants because they suffer the most. I would think that would carry out into the yard?

  7. NSEW is the same in all countries but the sun is not. In northern hemisphere this is the opposite to southern hemisphere. Here in Australia the sun of course still rises in the east and sets in the west but it is in a more northerly direction therefore the shadow is cast in a north to south direction meaning we need to plant tallest towards the southern side and shorter on the northern

  8. Very informative. I’ve prepared the first stage and as it’s early Winter here I’ll take my time with strategically planting my growing collection.

  9. Thanks. This confirms what I’m doing. Your trees look very close and I’m assuming that’s ok, because you are mimicking a forest, approximately how close center to center for the trees?
