That backfired on me be cautious
I would love to connect with people and families that are trying to get to safer places. I have room in my house that could be a jumping off point for them. It would be a great way to build a community of like minded people.
Spot on Darryl. No debt, acquire skills, lower expectations, and cook at home is a great start.
Ah my friends. Out of the box is the only way to guide your future. I applied what I did learn, to my current lifestyle. Sail on & be safe.
Good conversation
Be very careful inviting people into your world. I love that Darryl is a trusting soul, but as a senior citizen I know first hand how you can be taken advantage of. Be very careful who you allow into your inner circle.
Hello Kaye. It has been a bit since I popped in. I hope you had a wonderful mother's day! Me and the wife and kids went to a hotel for Sat and Sun. I made sure we had a place with a swimming pool and a sauna and hot breakfast so it wasn't just an outing in a squished up room. We had a blast. I love Oklahoma. Being I am on disability it is easier on your money. My standards of living has been lowered most of my life. We just got a Goodwill here. The rest of the family has checked it out but I have not been there yet. I am last generation baby boomer. I just celebrated 59 on April 25th. I am glad I have 2 adult children that live with me as I can hardly take care of myself. Thankfully even though I live in the city it, is a retirement community (and small) so not too many problems.
Good Morning – Kaye, Darrell, and Steven! So many awesome ideas makes me wish I was just a little younger to take advantage of them. Moving can be overwhelming and we are so dependent upon city conveniences adjustment is challenging. Darrell is right it begins with your attitude and willingness to embrace change. Sending blessings to all for a great video…
Great advise.
Two minutes of Darrell and I'm yelling, "Yes!"
I LOVE THIS! You know I'm elderly and this gives me hope for others who want to live their dreams. There is nothing better. Felt so good this morning to walk outside and pick strawberries and sweet peas from the garden, and collect eggs for breakfast. For me, that's what this life is all about….the little things!
There also a company called Work Campers it's a way to stay and work for a place to stay for hook up and some even pay. It's not all set up with the state parks the private RV parks are also list them.
I'm a 75 year old single woman. Eleven years ago, I decided I wanted to retire and live in Italy. I had a small inheritance, but certainly not enough to buy a move-in ready house with land. So I literally flew to Italy from California where I was living at the time, found an ancient stone house for sale in a Tuscan hillside hamlet that was at least 800 years old, and bought it for a very low price as it needed renovation. I had researched Italy and chose an area that wasn't isolated but had many local farmers, neighbors and so on. Once there, I hired a local man who had many skills and even though I couldn't speak Italian and he didn't speak a word of English, a year later I had the house restored enough to live in. I had a small garden with 5 olive trees and amazing views from every window in the house and from the garden of the Apuan Mountains and the glorious sunsets. At night, all I could hear were owls hooting sometimes, or the wind blowing. I sold the house recently. I didn't make a profit but I got every penny back that I put into it, so for me, I lived a wonderful Italian lifestyle in a beautiful house for a decade for free. I am now renting a big apartment without the hamlet stone stairs, and nearer to to the Mediterranean Sea. I can pay the low rent, utilities and food for only half of my very modest pension. So I think I have made good decisions. I travel to visit family in the US once a year. I always wanted a small homestead but it never happened. My only son who is a father of 3 soon to be 4 children is a writer and doesn't want to live in the country. His wife does though. So who knows. The way the world is going, we may all end up living together on a small homestead with land somewhere. I wanted to share my story in hope that it will inspire some people. Others are always telling me how brave I am. I don''t feel brave though. I just reply that all I did was follow my heart, do the research, and trust God to take care of me. Love to you all.
Good advice and ideas from those that have made it happen. Great video Kaye.
Great video. Hope it goes viral.
Thank you to the three of you. Great ideas. Enjoyed this, very much. Bless you.
Good advise, wisdom, our children need it.
Hello 👋, dearest kaye, also Darrell ,petie and Steven.,a super video lots to here,im going to watch over again and take it all in,xxx thankyou and bless you all, thankyou kaye xxxxxxx😊
This is a great video .. one thing I might add .. don't come to the Country thinking your City ways are better. Come to the Country .. and learn Country ways .. that's what makes the Country what it is! Don't expect your kids to be happy if they have been enjoying their City Gang Banger friends. Also another thing for those with a little money .. they might want to look for land that is being auctioned for back taxes.
I’m one of those white haired lady that needs help in my garden for sure! I’d be willing to share growing space for someone for sure!❤
