Hey guys
I live infront of a small forest park with alot of mother nature activity.

I was walking my dog and came across this nice piece of moss next to a tree that I picked up. After further inspection it had ticks living in it… I tossed it outside.

How can I eliminate the ticks? I want to use it for my terrarium that currently has isopods/springtails. Not trying to harm the currently bio active I want to add it to

Thanks in advance

I imagine submerging it in water for a long period of time would drown them? Maybe?

“Suffocating a tick is simple. Just drop it into an airtight jar or sandwich bag and wait a few days. The tick will die from a lack of oxygen, and its body will be perfectly preserved if you ever need to send it off to a lab.”

Perhaps you can toss the whole thing in a ziplock and see if they die off?…
