  1. Sisters that bonk their heads together, stay together! Excellent choice to do the stone wall. Always amazes me how many different plants can be put in a smaller space and look awesome! Those Concord barberries take zero attention, which is great because they are prickly, are drought tolerant, but they bring a nice dark colour to the garden!
    Thanks for sharing Monica's space.

  2. Can’t wait to see the finished results! It’s coming along beautifully. The hard scape is so nice and it makes a huge difference in the yard. I’m wondering, are they going to put sod down? It wasn’t discussed, so I’m not sure what the future plans are in the next video. But so far, is coming along nicely. Monica is so lucky to have you for her sister!

  3. It's like building an addition of 3 big rooms on your house! The added "living" space is wonderful.

  4. It was helpful to see a typical blank slate yard take shape. Most of us just don't have the know-how or confidence to tackle something like this. Watching Monica's yard take shape from literally dirt gives us noobs who want to transform our own yards some real useful ideas about how to go about fixing up a smaller space.

  5. So nice to see it! I am able to imagine it 10, 15, maybe 20 years down the line. It is going to be gorgeous! Great Job!!

  6. This a such a beautiful back yard for Monica & Nick. Interesting plants, the stone wall and steps are beautiful. Great visual interest! Is Monica doing the raised beds with the copper caps, like Allysa's. And the boxwoods instead of the fence is great. Have fun & enjoy.

  7. It's so good to see the progress in Monica's yard. Can't wait to see it finished ❤

  8. It’s looking so good I love seeing a smaller space like this! You guys are doing so much, it shows you can always make room for amazing gardens no matter the size!

  9. I was sure that I have already watched the video where the garden boxes were installed and you and Aaron did all the watering lines.

  10. To see two sisters working together and so excited about a project for one of them makes my heart so happy! 😊If only all families worked like this one-such a blessing to witness❤

  11. I'm surprised not to see Land & Sea and BioTone Starter being used here. Usually when Laura is planting that stuff is flying around! Wondering why these products were omitted in this apparently dry and dead soil. Maybe there's hidden treasure underneath that's not visible…?

  12. This transformation is incredible so far. It definitely has a sunken garden feel. Will you be adding a water feature? I think that would be a great addition ( just like some other comments mentioned). Also im from Saskatoon, idea for the berries is to make Saskatoon Berry Pie.

  13. Very VERY happy for Monica and (sp?) Nick!!!!! I have always felt the need within myself to ‘build’. To create something wonderful and it is just one of the reasons I love watching Garden Answer. Now to see your sister developing her home/yard it is SO exciting-I feel it just as y’all do 😮😊😁

  14. On the topic of augers what make would you recommend and what size bits are used the most small med and large plantings

  15. I really like the stacked backdrop in the corner! I know its just leftover stone, but it's a great backdrop for the tree and actually ties the space together really nicely 🙂

  16. Wow- Pedro’s company is all word of mouth? That says everything about how awesome they are. I don’t know of any company in this day & age that doesn’t use social media to advertise their business. I am loving this content GA- thank you for sharing with us! I am so happy for Monica & her husband!🌳🌲

  17. Hi! Question: is is just through pruning that you’re going to achieve the arch with the lilac? Or do you need to put in supports? Looks great!

  18. Best big sister ever. Ypu 2 are sich a team! It looks great! Love the choice of that boxwood wall! Great plant/tree choices! Good job girls!

  19. Think Monica would do casual videos of her in her yard? ☺️ even just time lapse with music, it’s such a beautiful space

  20. Instead of a bench what if you were to add a bistro table and chairs to the corner where you want to put the hose link? That way, the bench won’t get in the way of the cart.

  21. Love the different layers that you have put in the garden. A water feature would be great near where the bench is going to be and would cover some of the road noise. Keep up the great work and I cant wait to see it finished!

  22. In the right corner where they have the stone would be the perfect place for a water feature. You could plant the tree right next to it for shade. Just a thought! Love the way it’s turning out and that live boarder was a wonderful idea!
