  1. Yeah I'm in Atlanta and we had warm days that tricked my perrenials to come out…and killed at least one, my hakonechloa (best grass ever) is green at the base but not growing 😢. My dwarf bachelor's buttons and sweet alyssum volunteered in the sidewalk tho so that's cool.

  2. Hi Bethany. I planted some dill seeds a few weeks ago in two containers with the same fertilizer and watered the same amount. In one container they are growing in abundance, in the other not so much and the containers are right next to one another. It perplexes me why that happens. I guess we will never know. I posted my April video, hopefully this weekend I will get my May video posted. It’s amazing how much my lettuce, peas, carrots, potatoes, garlic and herbs are growing. In a couple weeks I will plant my warmer weather seeds. It is finally going to be in the 60’s and 70’s here in Jersey and hopefully not the 40’s and 50’s anymore. Tons of rain, which is good.

  3. I’m so glad your beets are doing well. I planted mine and all I got were roots and no beets. I will try them again in the fall, I think they will do better.

  4. Same here in Indiana earlier warmer weather and back to cold. We are going to be getting warmer starting today so, hopefully can start hardening off a lot 😊

  5. Hey Bethany, Southsider here! Where and what did you use for the 30 gl bags wheels? I would love to put mine on wheels. Thanks

  6. Hi Bethany. So glad to see you're doing well. Superb gardening. It's astonishing what you can grow on a rooftop balcony in Chicago. 🌼🌼🌹🌹

  7. I am in Aotearoa New Zealand. I had a cr*p year last year for my tulips in containers …was really bummed…. thought I won't grow them again, as they are expensive here, and are like annuals, but managed to get some on special this year, so will try again. I just love them so much. First two years growing them they were great. . I put mine under a table last year and put leaf mulch on top, but they must have still got too wet and maybe the leaves kept them too wet, many rotted, was a very poor show .

  8. To make your Hose Reel last longer, attach a 90-degree hose reel adaptor on the INLET side of the reel then attach the main supply line to the reel to it. This will relieve the weaker and bigger plastic piece of the hose reel water line. This clip shows what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/TXDOJzSRI38?t=47

To fix your broken hose reel, the same company has a youtube clip that they released to fix their products. The clip is right here: https://youtu.be/YuWDChn1jn8 …. If you can replace the plastic water lines to a much stronger metal line then that would be better.

  9. Love this tour Bethany! Love the herb planter! I can’t wait to see when it’s all in full bloom! Your deck tours are my favorite!

  10. Take the seed heads out of your rhubarb, my neighbor and I did ours already. It seems to go to seed way to early anymore.👍🏻

  11. Well, I think this spring had been a lot better for cool season stuff for me here in the nw Chicago suburbs than it was last year. I harvested my second round of spinach, leaf salad and radishes. For some reason my beets and carrots are just now poking their heads out of the ground. Planted them mid March so not sure I will get something before the heat starts. Same with my peas. Cauliflower, broccoli and Brussel sprouts seem to be doing great. My inground allium and tulips are exploding everywhere this year but my potted tulips look spotted like yours…some small and stunted, some tall and blooming, some didn’t even show up to the party lol. But all my potted honey berries or yezberries died this winter and I can’t find them in store or online. Sooo sad ☹️ maybe I give blueberries a try. Do you amend them a certain way? I think they like it more acidic? Not sure.
