    Living in NE I cannot use mulch as topdressing. If we did the weeds would have a PARTAY! We do use black mulch because I love the contrast with the plants. It tickled me that both Mom's are Sue/Susan. lol

    I’d be interested how your soil changes over time with all of the amendments you’ve been doing. Especially in the South Garden, considering the soil looked like Mars a few years ago!

    This project cleaned the yard up nicely! I do have a question about trimming. When you all trim around the flower beds, since there is no border on some of the mulched areas, what is the best way to keep the grass trimmings out? I have a hard time with this in my yard.

    I feel the relief of Aaron’s mother ! I’m a few months close to sixty and most of our kids live out of state so I slowly mulch it takes me a few weeks . She must love gardening too as she has quite a bit for a town house .
