Good afternoon thanks for this video
Thanks for the tips. In zone 6 we have a short growing season but I believe the shade cloth you mentioned will help towards the end of summer here for stretching the dog days of summer.
Always enjoy your passion for your garden. 🙏
Excellent tips. I will be implementing a few of them.
One Love 💪🏿
Great tips. Thank you
Good tips!
Woohoo! 11,000 subscribers.
🥳 Congratulations!
I use our Mesquite tree canopy for the shading in my garden for the plants that are sensitive to our summer heat. We have 4 days of hitting the 90's and then it goes back down to the 80's.. Thankfully! LOL!
Thanks for sharing 💜
The shade cloth is also good for extending the spring season crops that bolt when temperatures are higher than 80 degrees
I used straw mulch and it all blew away lol
Thank you great information.
I have a friend that plants in straw. She says to avoid hay because if seeds in the hay.
Good tips! I’ll be investing in Ollas pretty soon. Tired of the areas around the beds being soggy from trying to water deeply. It has given slugs way too much life in my garden.
Which shade cloth do you use? I did not see a link?
You can use plastic bottles that soft drinks are found in. Make holes in the cover and plant it backwards with holes at the bottom and cut a bit at the top and fill the bottle with water.
Great tips I need for my plants😅 . 😊
We use milk jugs to water our trees and straw for mulch . I also use sunshade and try to plant in the shade of our trees. Also sister planting works well here in the desert.
Whenever I miss watering on Friday, it seems to rain😂 BHS!! Also, you may consider using wine bottles instead of the small bulbs. I like using clear bottles like Manischewitz and others. Bartenura has beautiful bottles but hard to look at the water levels through the blue glass. Also had an interesting Convo with my dad on hybrid plants from a Levitical perspective. What are your thoughts?
Congratulations on 11K!
There are so many people moving here, that try to garden and find that what they know from previous gardening experience doesn’t work here. We have to stick to growing according to the weather, at least the hot half of the year 😅. We can grow a lot of things “out of season “ in the winter, but not summer. New to Desert Gardening people need to really study the county extension planting calendar. It will save a lot of garden disappointment!
Hello, Tiffany. This was a particularly helpful video. Thank you! I am in the Tucson area and am learning the in's and outs of desert gardening from the ground up! My second year here!👍
SINGS: Hot in the city!! Hot in the city tonight!! LOL!!
Is the seed swap still open? 🤞 🙏
