Hello! My name is Bethany and I grow things on my rooftop deck in Chicago, zone 6a.
In today’s video, I’m potting up two dwarf cherry trees and a beach plum! My rooftop orchard is coming together!

This is gonna be interesting!
I don't have enough sun for this so I have to live vicariously through you. OT but you said you were 37ish (,I already forgot). I'm 39. It's fun to guess YouTubers ages. I think I tend to relate and binge on people closer to me in age
QUESTION: what's the benefits of the mushroom compost?
Is it better than other compost we get from big box stores?

This is exciting! Can’t wait to see the progress. I’m in zone 8 and did a lemon tree in a pot and it actually did well and I got about 30 lemons from it and made some pies and lemonade. And then we had a frost and it killed it 😩😔
So starting over. Have a lemon and peach tree in the ground now
This vid is right on time because I am getting fruit trees this year. I'm thinking apples, but cherry trees are so pretty
Just found your channel and subscribed. I'm in the far south suburbs, have a very large container garden, and have been thinking about trees in containers. The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago, the second best time is today. Another channel I watch is doing a series on back yard orchard culture, basically how to prune fruit trees to keep them small. I had not thought about cherries, and it sounds like a great idea. I wish I had found I loved gardening even at your age instead of 55, I'm turning 60 this year, and I still want to grow a fruit tree.
I make my own potting mix. That bag of perlite is small, and the brand is expensive. Hometown perlite, a manufacturer is in Hodgkins, Il. They sell to the public and a 4 cu ft bag is only $16.
Love this & can’t wait to see how your trees do. Thanks to your Instagram post, I have the same apple trees coming. 😂 I tried to get a cherry tree, but found out that you can’t get cherry trees delivered to CO. Apparently some counties ban them, so it’s easier for shops to say they just don’t deliver to Colorado. I’ll be on the lookout for more dwarf trees.
Excited to see how they grow!! You are adorable!!!
