Look for an early fall update – maybe by this weekend. The garden is really growing vigorously.

  2. Nice! I wish I had room and sunny areas in my landscape to add more fruit trees. I like your selection, too. As you can see from my vids, I only add edible plants to the mix and it is primarily a shade garden – which I strive to prove can work in FL.
Good gardening and keep us posted.

  3. When you say "this is the second go 'round" did you mean you started over with the same seeds from spring or that you didnt uproot the pepper after spring and just allowed it to continue producing? I'm asking because a lot of people in Florida dont know that we can grow certain vegetable crops as perrienials or biennials here. Unfortunately, we're taught to garden like those up north with more distinct seasons. Thank you for taking me on a tour of your nice garden.

  4. Hi Nicole,
I didn't uproot some of the peppers left over from the spring planting. You're spot on regarding treating certain annuals as bi-annuals or longer in Florida. I'm carrying over a few container grown peppers from spring 2012 that were brought in during a frost. Incidentally, those plants are no larger than ones from spring 2013 of the same varieties. Peppers must peak in size and just hold on. We'll see how old they can get.

  5. I might add that it is hard to carry over thru the heat and humidity of summer just about all annual veggies I grow except hot peppers and some eggplant varieties. Tomatoes are notorious for dying off after the heat sets in but then you re-plant a new crop for fall which I'm doing now.
