Just outside our back door we have our shade garden, which in winter gets very little light. Come the spring this area comes alive as we begin to enjoy some sunshine in the late afternoon through to the evening. The plants here have been selected for their tolerance to shade, and in this video we give you a tour of this area and the plants we have growing in it.

Beautiful treasures in your shade garden! I enjoyed going through your archive of videos and exploring your different gardens ( the courtyard and balcony). My first garden was on a balcony and that was when I fell in love with gardening. Do you think the Sarcococca will do well in a generous pot? Such a sweet story of how the plant traveled with you throughout your different gardens.Thank you so much for the inspiration and for sharing!
My garden has full sun until 3or 4 then it moves down the garden 😎 ,I would love to sit out in the evening sun but it's at the bottom of a sloping lawn by then lol
Loved this video! My shaded border is full of lovely evergreens but lacking in flowers so those geraniums would be a great addition to improve my garden and feed the bees so thank you!
You've done a wonderful job with your shady area. Some of my most treasured plants are the ones that have been given to me by other people. My mum gave me a piece of London Pride and a blue geranium so I now have a massive clump of each as they've spread over the years. They have such sentimental value as she passed away four years ago. My shady area has lots of Aquilegias too and I'm going to put my geranium phaeum in as I've been wondering where to put it so is still in the original pot. I like the leaves on it. You have some super plants in your garden. Weather is supposed to be brightening up this week. The poor plants don't know if they're coming or going!
