@xAtomikTech Good question man, I guess it depends on what console and what games you have and collect for, I personally love to collect complete NES games but I have tons of loose ones aswell, I would love to have them all boxed but some of the boxes are very hard to find and are very rare for example I have Bubble bobble part 2 cart only, I want it boxed but I am not willing to sell the cart just because I don't have it complete. I figure every game I have loose I will find the box eventually
@fathys1987 Well, everyone makes their own categories. I don't dislike reprints as long as they look good on the outside: I don't shun a GOTY or Director's Cut just because they are not the first printing. Mainly I just dislike the deviant packaging Platinum/Greatest Hits/Ubisoft Classics etc. have, so I don't get any of those.
@fathys1987 If you're on a budget, I'd say get the bare minimum of new games as they come out and then pick out the cheapest of the classics. There are tons of great old PC games that are just a few bucks each.
@finngamer do you own a complete EarthBound game for SNES because that is my favourite game and it would be pretty epic for me if u showed it off in a video for demonstration purposes. Also, do you collect rare prototypes of games or do you just prefer to collect real games?
i think you are a great collector and i share your opinion about the completeness of the games!for example i had a zone of the enders without the demo of metal gear solid 2 and i just got another one complete with the demo for collection 🙂 same goes for other games i collect and yeah stickers off and clean them so they can be in good condition!i just collect a few series of games i like for PS1/PS2/PS3 like FF,MGS,GT etc but i would love to have a bigger collection…
Completeness always bothered me, but then I realized its easier to focus on what I want first then on completing it. But I have a very small budget and I don't know what to collect for first, GB/C/A, Gamecube, N64 or SNES, Since I grew up with all of them they all have high nostalgic value for me.
I am very anal when it comes to buying games on ebay. Although I always like to go after a seller that has a BUNCH of games I want at once to save me shipping and him/her time, I tend to get one that just doesn't like taking care of their games. The one perk I do have is that as soon as I get it in the mail I'll open it up and reflect it against the light. Scratches are my frenemy. I hate them with a deep passion but I know if I don't take care of em then the same will happen like it did when I got it in the mail. After I check it normally I buff it out and wipe it with a clean shirt. That pretty much solves that problem.
Let's say I have a a few SNES and N64 cartridges with no boxes, do you recommend just putting them somewhere safe or seeking out empty video game boxes?
See all the packaging innards of the NES and SNES just gave me chills of nostalgia from when I was a kid. What I would do to go back in time and be that kid opening his brand new game again.
Hi finn! What are your thoughts on emulators? Im collecting My self but sometimes i feel like its just a waste of money even tho i like The physical copy way more then a emulator. Sorry for bad english (;
