I can’t even tell you how much this harvest meant to me. It was the proof of concept that I was waiting for. So many set backs have happened in my cottage inspired kitchen garden over the last three years that getting to this point seemed impossible. The winter garden seemed to sleep for ages here in Texas, but it is the simple pleasures of seeing things thrive that excite me. Now I am picking peppers and artichokes from flower beds and onions from my cottage garden in the back raised-bed garden. Not to mention the herbs and tomatoes in my container garden right off my deck. I am finding the joy in the ordinary as I pick the smallest of peppers, they still bring a smile to my face. I am so glad I pushed through the bug damage and replanted numerous plants to get to this point. I hope you enjoy this quiet peaceful garden harvest vlog with me. Next week I will share how we cooked the artichokes on the grill. Here are the varieties that we harvested today:
Colorado Star Artichoke
Confetti Sweet Peppers
Bunching Spring Onions
Celery (grown from grocery store end)
Elephant Garlic Scapes
Alaskan Mix Nasturtium
Foxly Thyme
