Container Planting Berry Bushes: Making the Best of a Hot Mess! #gardening #4b #hotmess
About 2 months ago we purchased 4 berry bushes that were dormant. Although they usually hold off until time for us to plant, two came out of dormancy prematurely. So instead of losing the plants since we will still have plenty of night with hard frost, we are planting in containers.
Come on along for this hot mess express of a video. But I promise, there is some good info on soil for blueberries in here!

Keeping it real on this hot mess of a video and planting of berry bushes! I had intended for this to go so much differently but as you saw the berry bushes had other plans! But we found a solution and there is some good info in here on soil.
What did you think? 😂
You know how to mix dirt 🤭 Happy Gardening Comrade 🫐!
Wow Lisa, just so you know, hot mess here as well…
Keep forgetting to mark potted seedlings, some froze cause I planted them too early 😢the rest are struggling from neglect. Keeping things real is not pretty but honest and that’s most important. I’m going to show my “reality” soon too.
I totally get it … I've had that happen before. If you have them in containers they'll be fine i have had all mine in containers for years. However due to your deep snow maybe give them some cover in the green house over the winter. Sure they'll freeze but they know how to do that but they don't have the added pressure of the snow as well for weeks at a time.
Raspberries i cut back hard in winter as well down to the first node it helps them come back bigger and stronger in the spring from the base, much like copicing for trees etc.
It'll be fine hun seriously don't sweat it xox
4b Thunder Bay here in the house lol I feel your pain Lisa
That is an awesome cart! I think all of them will grow just fine with the soil. I'd plant them in the fall or bury the pots for the winter. Looks like you're off to a great start! I need to get busy with the fruit!
I can't plant any berries we have too many black bears around
I love blueberries 🫐 they never make it to the kitchen lol. Great job Lisa
I've had one of those carts forever and a day they are so handy
Good work my friend. Liked and shared
Good update, Lisa. Remember it’s a El Niño year. I grow them in tree pots. Use furniture movers heavy one. See my pea pot.
So you need to go get another blueberry, right? Because they need 2 to produce?
I bought 2 peach trees, planted them the day we bought them, both are dead sticks. So, next trip to town, I'm gonna yank em out, and take them back for a refund. Because they are "guaranteed to live"
Here's hoping your plants produce in abundance!!!
Hi 👋 how are you doing ? I need to add gardening stuff here or open up another channel. I don’t know what to do. That’s awesome 👏 I want to get raspberries and blackberries ❤ it’s still well not summer yet it was for a couple days now back to 60’s something. I need to kill the grass and weeds. Every year I used a shovel and got it up every single year. That’s a lot of work. Shovel up grass and weeds. This year I’m going to put some black bags on new garden to kill the weeds.
That’s a really cool cart !!! ❤ it’s a great 👍 solution to bring the garden 🪴 pots and they won’t get ruin. Than you can later because it’s good for them to be in the ground put them in the ground if you want to so the plants 🌱 can spread out their roots since they need a lot of room. Did you get your plants 🌱 at Lowe’s or Home Depot ? Because you have a year IF you have to return them so keep your receipts
Great solution for the berries! That's a nice cart, thems some lucky berries
I am wanting berry bushes too. I have to container everything. I won't even try to buy them until next month. I'm still getting snow off and on. Always a pleasure to see what you are up to. Many blessings to you!
Do you have crazy hair because of the wind? We have been having a lot of windy days here! Well that's a bummer about the blueberry plants we used to have a bunch of raspberry plants and I made Curtis mow them over because the people who lived here before had them in the most crazy spots and we were sick of getting of getting stabbed and the kids were too! Is there anyway you can send me another sticker? I was going through my stickers and realized I lost yours? ( or the kids stole it ) lol!
Great solution and love the cart. Take care friend ❤
G'day Lisa.
Had to turn off at 3 minutes. I can't handle crazy hair. You Know you are on YouTube, right! 🙄
OK, I better say I am kidding as I just know someone will see it and get upset. I'm kidding!!!
I actually unsubscribed and blocked you on Instagram. 😜😜
Ok, back to actually watching for real… Love the cart by the way.
G'day again Lisa.
Oh, so in our conversations, I totally missed the fact that you had already mixed all the soils for the extra blueberry. 🤦♂
Love the set up. It's going to make things so much easier.
Take care.
Daz.
Great cart! That should work fantastic for what you need. Take care
The struggles of gardening are real, lol.
Lol.

I bet you are done with berries.
