I’m starting a new series on my channel called Planting a Paradise! I’m slowly but surely starting to create my own calming garden. Come garden with me as I plant my bulbs for my butterfly garden, plant petunias in my topiaries, and create an herb garden.

  1. Got me more excited and prepped for spring planting! You'll have to show how the new bulbs and the topiaries that you planted do! It's trying to warm up here in Idaho. We have a warm day, and then it drops back to cold weather. So ready for full on spring! Thank you for sharing!

  2. Love the video. I was wondering when you were going to post a garden video. I started my vegetable garden and wish I could send you pictures. Something I want to point out is you used raised bed soil in pots. Do not do that as raised bed soil is too dense for pots. A better alternative is potting mix.

  3. Love this content (but then again, I love all your content)!💕🤗💙👩🏾‍🌾🌱🌷

  4. Hi! Love the video! I miss gardening as I am temporarily in an apartment due to moving to a new city / state. For the herb planters, do you plan to place a support beam in the center so they won’t topple? The higher you go, the more unstable it can become… just a thought. A dowel rod will work.

  5. You can keep thyme over the winter. At the end of the season I recommend moving it to a larger pot and letting to go

  6. I love your garden videos! I started gardening a few years ago, first it was just house plants and now I have a full outdoor garden with fruit trees and all. I’m in metro ATL as well and I am so excited. The bulbs I planted in the fall are coming up, peas, kale, strawberries and peaches are all thriving. Hubby just bought me an outdoor bistro set and hung string lights up on a few trellises I put up. It’s my sanctuary💚🌿💚

  7. Hello Jia beautiful family and hope you enjoyed your vacation. Your garden will be a lovely paradise .

  8. You could've used some rocks in the bottom of those large pots to save on potting soil and it could be good for drainage

  9. I am so glad you said where you got the 3-way pot . I would love to get some herbs and use that pot. Very unique ❤. Yes I love the content it is 😌 relaxing.

  10. Canada Ontario not ready to be planting in the garden yet but very very soon. I’m going to start getting the winter yuck out lol. We had lots of snow and cold snaps. But I’m so ready for spring and summer. I’m told this summer is going to be a very hot one. That should bring lots of tomatoes. Today we are getting a high of 25 so that’s high 70 but it’s still going down later in April so I don’t want to go to wild and end up with loss. I’m so jealous you are going strong and looks so beautiful. I did a herb garden in a garden bag and just put it at the end of my patio so just had to step out of the kitchen and it was there. I had so many I would make bouquet of herbs for my neighbour they just loved it. Then if they found tomatoes 🍅 and veg on the fence they knew it was for them.

  11. Planting in red Georgia clay is fun, right? Absolutely not! So hard to work with…

Might I suggest you start a planting journal? Make a list of each plant/bulb you plant, and include the size it will eventually become, sun/shade zone, and how much water (dry/wet) it will need. It's a little extra work but will help you get them in the right places and will keep them alive. Not only are they pricey, but it's hard working planting them! Also, some plants will get so tall they will need extra support to keep them upright.

Love seeing how much you love flowers, you remind me of my sister when she was still here (in heaven now), she got such joy working with her flowers/plants.

    Happy Spring!!! 🌸🌺🌷🍅🌼🪴

  12. 🌱Loving the herb station, its looking really nice girl and the topiaries in the black pots are very beautiful…😊❤🌱

  13. Hi Jia! Your video was lovely! I just had to mention that you look thinner! Have you lost weight? Please do a weight loss video! It really inspires me. I have lost 14 pounds myself! So excited I need to lose another 10 pounds before the beach weather! I can’t wait to go to the beach it really relaxes me and I’m a beach bum! Lol!

  14. You could use a pool noodle from the dollar store, cut them and put them in large pots to save soil. Works great!

  15. You are the reason I am becoming more into plants and gardening. Thank you for always being an inspiration.

  16. I bought 3 hardy hibiscus last year. Mine also died…guess they're not so hardy…

  17. In large pots fill 1/3 with packing peanuts or crushed plastic water bottles. Recycles, uses less dirt, good for drainage, & lighter pot to move.

  18. Your hibiscus could just be dormant so be sure it’s really dead before you get rid of it.

  19. Everything looks awesome. Some gardening tips for you: Next time you have a big pot like that, you can put several inches of leaves, sticks, rocks, etc on the bottom of it and use less dirt. Provides drainage and doesn't cost so much for dirt. Also, stake those trees or they'll blow over in the first thunderstorm.

Lastly, if you touch the hollyhocks (cut to bring in for a vase), make sure to wash your hands immediately afterwards. They can make you ill. Also, they are biennial. Will flower every other year. If you want them every year, the trick is to plant more next year and then you will have them every year.

    Have fun gardening! Looks great!

  20. Got some soil and mulch to make my yard look better. Gonna do some grass seed to fix some patches and add some play sand under where we hang a swing so that the kids can play and we can put our toes in the sand to relax . 😊
I want to plant some perennials in a garden patch that is all weeds so that it can come back year after year. Not sure yet what i want to plant.

  21. We used those dollar tree planters for the herbs last year it was nice walking out in the deck and grapping aome sprigs. I love thyme with carrots and a bit of maple syrup.

  22. Gardening is a work out. 💪🦵 Squatd and crunches and weight lifting and great aerobic exercise getting you breathing.
