  1. Hi Jim and Stephanie! Thank you for teaching us about soil amending. Your soil looks great! I have learned so much from you. With just moving here, (zone 9a Texas Gulf Coast)creating new garden beds, eventually we will have a beautiful garden thanks to you. Thank you Thank you Thank you

  2. Great timing! Ready to get summer crops growing. I think a lot of us have the same issues with space and sun exposure. Cheers 🥂 to a great vegetable season!

  3. I rarely have luck with tomatoes from seed but I decided this year I’d try again. Your videos have helped me so much. We’ve got very large seedling getting ready to be transplanted outside. So thank you Jim and Steph, as I always I appreciate your advice, time and effort to make these videos. My whole family watches your videos now.

  4. Thanks for another great video Jim and Steph. I’ve worked on starting seeds indoors this year thanks to your information. Always something new to learn and your videos are always helpful and clear!

  5. Hi Jim. Will nights in the 40s hurt the transplants? I've got plants hardening off right now – debating whether to put them in now or to wait till we're over the night time lows of 42/43F (we've passed our frost date). Thanks!

  6. Cucumbers, squash, and zucchini germinate and grow so fast that it's amazing. I still start mine indoors to control the environment, but I haven't done any of the 3 yet. By contrast, I started my peppers two months ago because they take forever to germinate and grow so slowly.

  7. How do you do rotational gardening esp for tomatoes? Or do you not worry about it?

  8. Do you pinch back early flowers on your peppers? I started some from seed around the same time that you did and planted them a few days ago. It looks like they are producing buds already.

  9. Thanks jim, you always have advice for how to save time and effort, much appreciated

  10. I couldn’t see clearly Jim – do you bury your tomato plants more deeply into the ground? If so are there other plants you can do that with?

  11. Where did you get the small obelisk? It would be a great size for a container. Your garden is looking beautiful!

  12. I will keep on trying tomatoes from seed until I get something. This year my starts looked better, but I still supplementeed with some plantlings I bought. My issue now is I wonder If I get enough sun. Like your garden, I have a lot of high shade and while I'd love to get rid of the trees or at least trim the lower branches, I can't do it myself due to the height and size. Since trees aren't a danger, can't justify the cost of removing them. East facing front yard, lots of early-AM sun to around 1-2pm, but after that pretty well blocked by other trees in backyard. I'm just gonig to keep trying My tomatoes and vegetables seem to grow there, flower, but produce little to no fruit. Not giving up though!

  13. I agree with you. Group plantings are more attractive. I think a well thought-out veg garden, with flowers generously sprinkled throughout, is beautiful.

  14. Here in north AL, 7b, our avg last frost date is Apr 15. Forecast looked good, so tomatoes are in the ground. Now we have a forecast for 36 deg and frost next Mon morning!!!!!!!!
