  1. When growing mushrooms for consumption, proper identification is critical; in fact, your life can depend on it. False morels contain hydrazine compound that decomposes in the body into methyl hydrazine, which can cause liver failure or even death if the mushrooms are eaten raw or are improperly cooked.1

Morel mushrooms have a distinctive appearance, but false morel mushrooms (which encompass multiple species, including Gyromitra) can fool the untrained eye. True morel mushrooms have a uniformly shaped cap that is attached to the stem, and a hollow interior. False morel mushrooms have a wavy or irregular cap that may hang free from the stem, and web-like or cottony fibers inside. Never eat a mushroom unless you are confident in its identification.

  2. They grow under and around deciduous trees such as elm, ash, alder, apple, and oak, frequently appearing before these trees have leafed out

  3. I don’t know anything about mushrooms but want to learn. Just subscribed to your buddy’s channel. Wish I was your neighbor.

  4. Wild delphinium. Too bad about all the Poison Ivy. Nice exploration walk. Morals are prolific after a fire.

  5. Wow – you have mini caves on your property. Very surprised there were no snakes but lots of poison ivy! Sorry you did not find any morels but maybe next year. I'd like to try one of those mushroom kits they sell but they cost a lot more than just buying the mushrooms. Have a blessed week..

  6. Please try to keep your eyes looking up often. Snakes can climb trees. One fell out of a big oak on our son's car a couple years ago and when my kids were small I popped one hanging over their swing set. Loved your hike. You have a lot of plants that I haven't seen over here on the West side of the state. One thing for sure…I'm glad I'm not allergic to poison ivy so far but sadly I'm allergic to kitties.

  7. (Kansas)
Hey everyone/ the government just killed another 100k chickens and 18k dairy cows.
Keep alert and watching for His glorious appearing daily

  8. Very nice walk, thanks. Your woods is beautiful ❤. But I'm not gonna lie I would have paid ten dollars if a squirrel would have ran out that hole 😅

  9. It has been almost 40 years since I was morel hunting. I have wanted to buy some but they are very expensive. I remember they were awesome fried!

  10. Good night smart and beautiful, I hope life has given you all the love that you have given it, you are just so precious to the world, you have earned a place in the hearts of the good people in the world, and so I salute you, GOD BLESS your precious loving heart, remember to keep clever pennies in your eyes and stay safe and warm 😇🌹🦋🐝

  11. right after you looked at the large oak, it looks like you have a small redbud tree 11.01 minutes into the video. my favorite tree. it would be nice to transplant it or find a even smaller one to dig up and put near your home so you can enjoy it

  12. Your property is very gorgeous – even with the dreaded Poison Ivy. I used to marvel at all the wildflowers growing around the Cumberland Plateau near Lake Tansi and just off our then little six acre place we briefly lived at. We were in the Crossville area for about 5 years but it has been a decade since and several years after in FL.

  13. I think they have equipment to see if caves are in the earth? I’m not sure. It would be cool to find a cave Kaye. Make a storm shelter or somewhere to hide..of course only if it’s safe. Even a underground cooler…really interesting!!
