John from http://www.growingyourgreens.com/ goes on a field trip to a Viewers house to check out what’s growing on in the Winter Garden in Las Vegas. In this episode you will learn what crops you can plant in the winter time in the Las Vegas Desert that will grow successfully. another xlnt. vid, john. btw do you have any thoughts on the potential radiation issue from japan
getting on our gardens? i live in so cal ( high desert) and am concerned that maybe if there is some fallout getting on our greens. I don't have any way to test for it.
seems that broad leaf veggies would be more at risk for radiation particles to collect on the leaf? I really like your videos, i learn alot ! thanks brother
Looks very nice! Love the "Red Solo Cup" tip. It is supposed to work good for earwigs too, I have heard.
Another nice vid john. I love the cement wall that she's growing in that surrounds her garden!
Hey John, Great video! The hair doesn't really work for bugs, but it really does repel rabbits and deer! Cause they're afraid op people and your hair smells like…well, you. Oh And the roachtrap with beer works for snails because the beer poisons them! (they kinda melt and go all yuk!)
great video john. you have an awesome garden Viva. cant wait to see your garden next year. take care
John, are the roaches good to eat?
John, you should get together with Veronica and create some friction. She's cute.
AWESOME Video John good buddy,…..from the before and present images of Veronica's space, i'd say her hard work and determination have paid off, she sure has some cool garden!!! Thumbs up John and Veronica too!! =D
@growingyourgreens Yes, and remember girls, John likes the "plastic tent action" this time of year.
moved about 30 pepper plants indoors for the winter
yeah i trap all my roaches so i can smoke them later
Im glad you got a chance to visit Veronica's garden again. She definitely has one of the best gardens in Vegas, and i'm sure a lot of desert gardeners out there can learn a thing or two from her 🙂
Are tree collards the same as walking stick kale this is probably the dumb question of the day but I dont know
Hey John, love it when you network with other gardeners. Way to spread the knowledge-you're doing good work!
No, they are not the same. I believe I have an episode where I collect seeds from both plants and you can see the differences.
Veronica is already spoken for.. I dont play that. That being said, I am single and available for all you single gardener girls out there!
It's so cool when two of my subscriptions interact with each other!
Wow, I just loved her video! Thanks for sharing her with us John. It's so fun to meet your friends.
i am another hair collector, i started after seeing hair pads to go at the bottom of pots to collect the goodness that washes out of the compost when watering, in the uk these cost a lot and so i would not get them but having long hair i can make a few a year and put some out for the birds to use as nesting
@VivaLasVeggies 🙂 John's a great guy…
Hey John have you ever grown Lingonberries? After seeing your video with the Guava's I was kinda looking into the different type of berries and its quite an adventure looking at all the different kind. Thanks in advance.
Maybe slugs? oh ya i think that one would be cool.
love the hair idea. makes sense to me
Beautiful garden, beautiful girl.
What a great garden. It just goes to show that it doesnt matter where you live, if you want to grow your own food you can.
GARLIC AND LAVENDER ROSEMARY
Havent Grown Lingonberries.. Although I love to eat all berries!
I did that once John. I used a tent and two flimsy arches to create a gazebo greenhouse. I hung Christmas lights inside. All my plants survived the winter. I was so happy I didn't have to buy more plants the following year.
Nice garden, awesome she's still growing. I got some stuff I'm still growing right now too.
@growingyourgreens Smooth John, Smooth.
The Coffee and water mixture is also great for FUNGUS GNATS and many other pests. Try it especially if you have Fungus Gnats.
@laurina411 This garden is also for cold states, the plastic covers are really only for when it gets cold (winter or even night as in dessert locations it gets cold at night). Hope that made sense and helps.
THIS GUYS AWSOME! :))
you and her look like relatives brother n sister lol
