Raising Rabbits | NEW Rabbit Tractor, Weaning, Sexing, and Tattooing

Weaning rabbits from their mothers is an important step in their development. It is typically done at around four weeks of age when the young rabbits are old enough to be able to eat solid food and no longer need to rely on their mother’s milk for sustenance. During weaning, the rabbits should be carefully sexed to help determine their gender and to avoid any potential inbreeding. Once the rabbits have been identified, they should be tattooed with a unique code to help identify which parents they came from. Finally, the rabbits should be placed in a rabbit tractor to be put on grass for the first time. The tractor should be designed to give the rabbits plenty of space to move around, as well as protection from predators and the elements. Weaning the rabbits and placing them in a tractor on grass will give them the best chance of thriving.

  1. Your bunnies are so pretty. I hear so much noise and chatter around the homestead now compared to one year ago. That's quite a snazzy bunny coop you made. Happy Easter 🐰 🐇🐰🐰🐇

  2. That tractor looked good once you were done. I had no clue WHAT y'all were doing at the end but as I tell my sons, if you be quiet long enough you will learn something.

  3. A nice pick up for 25 bucks! The modifications look great. I think you mentioned possibly splitting the roof later? That sounds like a helpful idea. You two have put in the work but still have plenty to keep you busy.
