Welcome to the first full garden tour since we moved in a year ago! So much has changed in the last year but we’re still just getting started on building this permaculture-inspired cottage garden on what was a blank piece of suburban land.
I’m so excited about how much will change in the garden this year so make sure you subscribe to follow along!

Hi! I’m Laura. Welcome to my garden in zone 8b. I’m on a mission to transform our suburban lot from plain grass to an urban permaculture paradise. I share gardening vlogs and videos about suburban permaculture gardening.

  1. Your garden looks great! The bulb bed will look even better after a few years once the plants have spread, I’m sure. Personally heavy clay hasn’t had any problems with my fruit trees. Excited for summer! 😊

  2. It's looking so nice there, Laura! The little bulbs are all so colorful and will spread fairly quickly. Oh, I love rhubarb! Great job rescuing it from your parents' compost pile! ☺️
That Asian Pear is lovely, and the HoneyBerry and SalmonBerry are as well. 😊
I hope your currant decides it wants to flourish in its new location. I planted 4 currant bushes about a month ago and am very pleased to see them leafing out now. 😎
That poor Hydrangea looks like it's actually trying to come back. Maybe it senses the new owner will actually take care of it? ☺️
Thanks for sharing your garden with us!
