My beds, for transplants, no longer need to be turned. I prepare my beds in different ways. Many are prepared using a variation of this 3 layer method or something similar. You can weed, feed, and mulch all in one effort.

I love that your videos explain things so simply and you present additional options.
Only gardeners wish they had lots of leaves and cut grass! 😂
I wish I has some more cardboard, I was going to grow my potatoes in cardboard boxes, but I dont have enough cardboard for that. I have add to my small garden so far, 10 gal of chicken 💩, & about the same in rabbit 💩. NOT sure how much longer it will be before i have plants to put in the garden yet, iv not started anything seedlings, other than 7 small post of toms.
The weather as been CRAZY, I want to leave my seedlings outside if at all possible. And I am still rebuilding tye garden fence. 😆
Which includes moving the rabbit cages, & lots of on the go thinking all while shepherding my Elle-May🐐
Repeat after me: Dandelions are not weed!! !!!!!!
My beds didn't grow weeds much this yr, not the ones I used last yr. The other one's have grown lots of weeds, but I can mot really plant in them. The animal's will rune it ALL
Happy to see this video! Hubby won't give up weed killer, haven't given up trying to convince him not to😊, so no grass clippings yet. Once discontinued I wonder how long it will take for the toxic growth inhibitors from weed killer fertilizer to leave my lawn so I can use clippings? I established my newer in-ground beds using layers of just cardboard weighted down with bricks. All my types of beds are no dig. Thankfully very few weeds in my wooden raised beds so yearly I just top each bed with fresh additional inches of your soil recipe {peat, top soil, & manure} along with granulated fertilizer, azymite , a pinch of garden lime. I just planted 4 fruit trees {2 Italian Plum, 1 Early Richmond Cherry, 1 Granny Smith Apple. Eventually when they produce leaves I'll mulch with leaves instead of manure.
You have such a knack for making things so easy to understand. And demonstrating simultaneously is superb! Love it! Thanks so much.
I love a lot of your advice, but I'm not sure about this one. It takes a long time for water to soak through cardboard. When you get a decent rain, the water is just going to tend to shed off the cardboard to the edges of your bed. This doesn't seem like a great idea to me. When you're trying to kill a lawn to create a new garden bed? Sure. Then cardboard is great. But in an established garden space that I'm planting into, I think I'd skip the cardboard and add a thick layer of the organic mulch.
Won’t grass come up from using the clippings?
Can't wait to see this transform! 🌱
I would never use cardboard for anything in the garden it has fire retardant on it and fiberglass used to bond with the paper. Horrible advice for your garden 🤠
What kind of weeds did you have?
If you can’t use grass as the last layer what other green material can you top it with?
iF YOU DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO CLEAN GRASS OR LEAVES WHAT DO YOU USE?
