Sowing & Growing In April Part 2 [Gardening Allotment UK] [Grow Vegetables At Home ]



We have lots of gardening jobs to do through April so we are taking it one week at a time [Gardening Allotment UK] Please Like & Subscribe and join us doing Allotment Gardening Container Gardening plus more
April
Week 2 Potatoes – plant out sprouted sets
Week 2 Beetroot – sow seeds under cloches
Week 2 Brussels Sprouts – Sow seed of mid to late varieties
Week 2 Cabbage (summer) – sow seeds indoors
Week 2 Kohlrabi – sow seeds outside
Week 2 Shallot – plant sets outside (18cm / 7in apart)
Week 2 Shallot – protect from birds for 5 weeks
Week 2 Swiss Chard – sow outdoors with cloche protection
Week 2 Turnip – start to sow seed outdoors
Weeks 2 – 3 Carrot – remove cloches from early sown varieties
Weeks 2 – 3 Carrot – sow early seed varieties in open
Weeks 2 – 3 Leek – sow seed outside in a temporary seed bed
Weeks 2 – 3 Tomatoes – pot-up young plants
Weeks 2 – 4 Strawberries – buy and plant potted plants

    My potatoes have been out since Feb. We did get a frost and I covered them but some of the tops did get burned. They are still doing okay though.
