On today’s episode of Homeworthy we’re taking you inside interior designer Nina Long’s antique-filled Atlanta home. Built in a traditional Georgian style with touches of English sensibility, Nina spared no time renovating her home to revive its darling 1930’s charm.

A curation of landscape oil paintings, patterned drapery and mural wallpapers are woven throughout Nina’s home to create a refined thread of cohesion. Though heaping with antiques, Nina’s focus on liveability and functionality brings a welcoming warmth into each room. Enjoy!

  1. This is a lovely home that I’d expect my grandma to live in. For such a young couple it’s very old fashioned, even for me and I’m 60. I’m sure they love it though and she has put thought into it. šŸ˜…

  2. You have a gracious and welcoming home. I love the cozier, more intimate entryway instead of the grand staircase. Your decor is timeless and comfortable.

  3. She didn't really say that photo was taken in 1960? That must have been a typo. It's clearly late '60s, most likely 1968.

  4. Nina , your home is so lovely ,warm, cozy and filled with love . Perfection and the best Home Worthy I’ve seen .

  5. I LOVE your dining room. The cream curtains and light rug provide just the right amount of contrast, but they do it in a twist from the usual dark curtains and rug against a light wall. Brilliant in a traditional room! The only room in the house that could use a tweak is the master bedroom. Maybe it's the camera, but one side of the room is very light and one is dark, making it very unbalanced, even though you have two windows. What about moving the mirror from facing the bed (bad Feng Shui) to the right side of the bed, facing the wall at the foot of the bed? You could put a work of art with a protective glass over the dresser, and get almost the same amount of reflected light. Also, as far as your books, I'm pretty sure Collier was the publisher.

  6. Such a hood taste son confy so relax so beautufully decorated great color combination and great furnishing and elements used for decoration

  7. I love everything about this lovely home, but one thing about the living room: I'm surprised that she positioned the two armchairs against the wall, far from the sofa. That arrangement seems like something that would've been done in the 40s, 50s and 60s. It isn't conducive to conversation when guests are over. I'm curious why she made that decision. That jumped out at me because I've seen so much advice against doing that. Perhaps her chairs are on casters and can be moved?

  8. She is totally adorable and likeable ! If i lived in Atlanta she would definitely be my designer !This house is so gorgeous, simply decorated and elegant.Love antiques, she has great taste ! I am sick of over the top designers with so much stuff in a room you feel suffocated. You can breathe and relax here.

  9. One of the best homes! I enjoyed the episode So much! So homey, so cozy, grand but not over the top.
Applauds go to the young family!
You can feel their warmth and love transcended into the design.
I rarely leave any comments, but this time I had to. It was such a beautiful home tour! Thank you for letting us, viewers, visit šŸ’–

  10. I was so excited to hear that Homeworthy was going to feature Nina's home because she is one of my favorite designers. As expected her home didn't disappoint. I love her fresh traditional style.

  11. I can’t believe the transformation from ugly to beautiful. Love love her taste of decorating. ā¤šŸ˜ā¤

  12. Collier Hills is a gorgeous neighborhood in intown Atlanta and this designer rose to the challenge with her lovely home! It warmed my heart that she and her son say goodnight to the animals on his curtain panels – SO SWEET! =) However, I am curious why didn't she name the Farrow & Ball colors she used?? Anybody watching this channel will want to know…!

  13. Love your home and the many beautiful rooms you have created. I particularly loved your mural in the dining room. I missed the name of the company you spoke of. Can you share with me? Keep living and loving your family and home!

  14. That wonderful intricate art work in the baby's room is amazing, bet the little boy loves looking at that.

  15. Beautifully designed old traditional styled home, well done. I still continue to be amazed at the use of ums by these younger designers in their presentations. It distracts from their wonderful designs.

  16. I think the kitchen is the perfect size! Too big and you’re just adding steps to cook or clean. Your house is just beautiful, Nina.

  17. Collier is the book publisher – open the book & you’ll probably read their name on one of the first few pages!!

  18. This is one that I want to watch again. I, too, love English style and textiles…used in a fresh way. Love!

  19. OCD NEVER WORKS WELL. I’m not one to be obnoxious and point out things like this. However, my brother had OCD and is no longer with us due to suicide. OCD is miserable and it takes and takes and takes. It takes from everyone in that persons life as well. I just wish everyone would use more appropriate words. Perhaps…particular, neat freaks, organized, stickler….. Also, this isn’t a PC siren either. Just an awareness call. ā¤ā˜ŗļøāœŒšŸ¼ Your home is truly lovely. Your clients are lucky to have you close by!

  20. I love anything Made by the Schumacher’s name because it usually indicates good quality items, whether it’s the beautiful natural scenery of your wall paper in your dinning room, the drapes throughout the living room, sunroom. I believe that by viewing your beautiful Home it does shows how proud you’re of your home and of being able to have and being a designer. Collier, McMillan was one of my first encyclopedias my dad bought to me when I was a child. Mrs. Long has gifted to you a very valuable text(s), that in fifty years from now will valued even much more. Enjoy your beautiful home, because I did and thank you madam for sharing your esthetics designs šŸ™

  21. Crazy I used to make a floor plans in the woods too. I used pines needles n sticks to build the walls. One time made a stone pathway to the front door.

  22. A very nice house. Lovely, soothing palette, nice furniture. Nina must be working a lot, you caught her in her working decorator’s garb. BTW, the coloring of the paintings (eg, one that lost its glass) does not look like watercolours but oil paintings. However, an oil painting will never be put under glass unless it was an oil print. Oil prints were very popular in the second half of the XIX century, like posters today but much nicer, many of those oil prints were copies of famous painters)

  23. I’m interior designer and I would like to say that I really loved every detail in your house 🌹 the color scheme is so unique and elegant 🌹 I also loved that you followed your heart to implement every piece šŸ˜
Please I need the link for the wallpaper company šŸ™

  24. In my Amanda Priestly voice: Marble in a kitchen. How groundbreaking.
