In the previous video we looked at a few tools for new gardeners. After some initial gardening you’re probably ready to get some serious work done. Often times that involves moving some earth. In this episode we look at a couple of common and iconic digging tools. In addition, we will look at a gardening tool that is less iconic and very fun to use– a drain spade.

Like the hand mattock, the idea to try out a drain spade came from watching professional landscapers using them.

  1. You are so smart knowing all the correct names for those tools! My lemon tree is growing new leaves and a tiny lemon is on it! Lol at you trying to outsmart the birds with your choice of grape color! 🐩

  2. Hey Brian I know what u mean they don't make tools like before like my grandpa use to have!! The only tools that i have is my shovel, & my serrated sickle, & a small weeder. My next tool is gonna be a machete lol!! I need one really bad!! Anyway TFS!! Take care!đŸ‘đŸŒđŸ‘©đŸŒâ€đŸŒŸ

  3. Great explanation of the tools. Good luck with your grapes, this will be my grape plant's second year so hopefully i get grapes, fingers crossed

  4. Now, this is one tool I would like to have too. I bought a plumbers shovel,  its similar and my favourite garden tool. I love having grapes around. I had a few over the years. I have no secret how to successfully grow them, they just happen to work for me. My friend grew a cutting for me. I think it will fruit next year once I have it in the ground.

  5. Thankz man you're given me some good idea i asked my cousin because he knows more then me about growing and he reckons that you don't need to put soil in the hole but watching you to it i knew i was right also have you ever tryed putting lime at the bottom of the hole??
