I’m sorry Brian where did you say the chart was for when to sow ? I’m zone 6a? Thank you. 🌷💚🙃
I'm in Lancashire, UK, I think pretty much the same as your NY, expecting snow again in 2 weeks, what can I start planting, I do have a plastic green house. Many thanks
I'm in 5b Iowa but it's been a very mild winter for us. 😊
Good info, we don’t get much of a break between our mild cold and hot nights are already in the 70s, days or upper 80s in the low 90s. Planted my green beans last month and I think it’s already getting too hot for him. The leaves tips are turning brownish. Hoping I get some tomatoes before it gets too hotI planted a little bit late, that hurricane threw me all off schedule last year.
in Sacramento, 9b, it is just getting out of the 40's and 50's for the high daytime temp. It's been really cold. I planted carrots and beets in barrels last fall and they are just now getting big enough. It's still too cold for zukes and cukes and beans
It’s so hard to listen to all the things people in warmer places can do when your garden is under more than a foot of snow! They say our last frost date is the end of May but the last couple of years we’ve had pretty heavy frosts into June. I have started my peppers, eggplant, broccoli, cauliflower and basil inside and tomatoes will be in a week or two. Heat loving plants don’t go out until after June 10. I spread some lettuce seeds in one bed last Fall so I’ll wait to see when it starts to grow. The broccoli and cauliflower are going into a bed with garlic that was planted last Fall. I have pvc hoops over the bed so I can hopefully cover with plastic to thaw it a little faster and then have a garden fabric or tulle cover to prevent bug damage. Seeds for direct sowing won’t be done much before the start of June either unless I help the beds warm up a bit faster (get them thawed lol).
Southeast Missouri (6B)
April 16th
Central NH, zone 5. Last summer I added lettuce to my front deck flowers facing west. I picked lettuce most of the summer.
I'm in Willards MD I think zone 7. What can I plant outside now?
Another brilliant video thank you Brian!
I am from the South East UK and I'm zone 8b, last frost around 15th of May but where I've moved too doesn't seem to get hit with frost too badly
I have pretty much now started all of my seeds (peas cucumber, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, zucchini, squash and cucamelons, early potatoes and some annual flowers) and will be sowing the final bits (carrots, parsnips, runner beans, and my final lot of flowers oh and maincrop potatoes) this weekend (if the rain let's up)
May 5th Massachusetts
Hello, I'm in Blanchard, OK Our last frost is between March 1st thur the 30th. I just found you a few weeks ago and have learned alot watching although I've been a plant lover and grower since 1970. Thank you for your expertise. I've gotten smarter on what to plant and grow opposed to what I want but it's not hardy enough to make it here in our climate. I cant wait to get my hands in the dirt. Today I went plant shopping and bought alot to put out and enjoy. I'm using the milk plastic carton to germinate my seeds this year and try a couple of tub planters and 2 litter plastic pop bottles for growing tomatoes in upside down.
I’m in Ontario, Canada, Canadian zone 5b. Last frost date usually May 28.
Great video Brian!
Louisiana here. Zone 9a
NW Iowa zone 4b or 5a , May 5 is the official last frost date but I tend to wait until the 15th of May.
Perfect time now Brian. Great info in this episode again. have so much stuff to sow but tons already growing. Last frost middle of May here so close now
7b last frost date is April 15th. And all our nurseries are selling snapdragons, petunias, herbs, and lots of other flowering plants. Tomatoes and lots of veggies are for sale also. I've discovered the benefits of bonemeal for plants already in the ground. Don't know why I hadn't used it before.
My pepper seedlings didn’t do really well when I put them out. Even though it has been warm. So in desperation I just planted a bunch of seeds in a raised bed and they all pretty much germinated. I am excited this might work. I live in zone 9b on the Gulf Coast. Our last frost date is Feb. 1 but I have known it to freeze a week later.
I live in the Florida Panhandle, zone 8. I have already planted peppers, tomatoes.cucumbers, corn squash, and green beans. I hope we don’t have to many more cool nights. My fingers are crossed that my garden does well this year, last year was terrible… enjoy your videos.
I'm in WV last frost date is mid May but it has been known to frost up until the end of May.
Ocala, FL… March 5
SoCal zone 9b here. For my area there is a variation of "last frost date" some say Feb 28 others say Mar 11-20. But this year is wonky so I have seen my seeds inside and got the light setup you suggested. 😁
Zone 9b
Zone 9B, Central Valley of California, our last frost date is Feb. 10, usually. This year we are still close to having frost. Normally our temperature this time of year is in the 70’s. This year we are in the 50’s for daytime temperatures, night time has been between low 30’s and mid 40’s.
Indianapolis, IN I think I am in zone 6
Atlanta, Ga area. Our last frost date of 90% no more freezes is April 18th. I'm hoping to get my green bean bed started soon. I think I put out my pea plants too late. They've all germinated but are babies right now. I hope they can take the heat. Thanks for the video!
I'm in South Florida 10b… What's frost? Just kidding. We had no frost this year. Temps are over 80 feels like 90.
