  1. Thank you Erica . This is a great idea for covering my weeds in the flower bed x. I found the box with last years potatoes that I was saving and they were looking very alien like with all the new shoots on them . So they have gone in a bed for Xmas potatoes 🥔 with lots of grass clippings on top . Thank you 💖

  2. some great advice and video. I've always used grass as a mulch mainly because I've had no where else to take my grass clippings. Interesting ideas of grass clippings and potatoes

  3. A Mix of homemade compost,Grass clippings as mulch, Grass clipping Tea and maybe a splash of Fish Emulsion- You'll never buy pre bag soil again! 🙂

  4. good luck with your no dig Erica. I'm in my 2nd year now… Can't believe I ever thought digging was a good idea. Just finished mulching the beds with grass clipping and also put a large ring round all the fruit trees… out to the drip line. Idea number 6 maybe😊?

  5. Wonderful information! I wonder if using grass clippings as a soil amendment is good. I was going to try to mix fresh clips into my soil and immediately seeding veggies. Maybe it would loosen soil and retain moisture? Any thoughts?

  6. Also I like to put some grass clippings in a big bucket fill it with water and let it sit for a day or two and make some good tea out of it for my plants, nice video BTW keep it up

  7. Good morning Erica, I use a layer of cardboard first and cover it with 3-4" like your #4. By the end of the season the cardboard is broken down. Also, I make Compost using clippings and shredded papers and thin cardboard. The Compost is wonderful.
I, too, did a couple videos on easy mulching and composting.
Hey, Hey! You are getting ever closer to the big 10K!!!!👍👩‍🌾👍

  8. Thank you Erica, great tips. I've got my first real lawn and I now feel inspired rather than overwhelmed.

  9. Thanks a lot Erica. It's very useful for me as I am new to this concept.

  10. Good tips. I have been using grass as a mulch and compost also. How long does it take for the grass/wood-chip compost to be mature ?

  11. Hi Erica, thanks for this fist-class video -I shall certainly try it on my veg beds. I grow my tomatoes in the ground in a greenhouse – can I mulch with grass under glass? Thanks!

  12. Isn't there a risk of sowing grass seed by doing this? Does it make it more likely that slugs will get to the plants?

  13. Erica. They are all fantastic ideas. Also, by using grass clippings in the garden, you do not have to pay the council to take them away. Win , win

  14. Loved this video and funny enough I was sitting hear thinking as I watched "could grass clippings help with a big area." Then boom you said so!! Thanks so much from Arizona 🙋🏻‍♀️

  15. Hello! I just subscribed and wanted to know if it is okay to use grass clippings in my vegetable garden if there are some weeds in my grass? Thanks so much!

  16. Oops, I accidentally clicked the dislike icon. Didn't mean to. I really like this video and also had great results earthing up potatoes. Thanks for the great tips.

  17. Big mistake if you use chemicals on your lawn, it is better to compost the clippings to kill seeds and chemicals take much longer!

  18. If I have more weeds then grass can I still do this? Iv got dandelions, wild violet and a few different types of clover. I usually toss it into the compost because I'm worried that I'll just start growing weeds in the garden.

  19. I use a WORX vacuum / leaf mulcher and vacuum my lawn. It mulches leaves and twigs and all that very nicely. It is much quicker than raking. Then I dump the bag of mulch into my garden or under my trees. This is an excellent and cheap way of fertilizing plants and things.

  20. Thank you. Over this new season, 2022, in Florida I had already practiced 4 out of 5 of your suggestions. But I really learned about/enjoyed the last one of creating compost in a pot for next year. I use a garbage can and it smells but the grass and wood chips is a much more civilized way of doing it near the house. Have a great growing season.

  21. Works great. However, make sure the grass you use was NOT treated with chemicals. This can kill your precious plants.
