Well this was fun! I cannot wait to see your seeds come to fruition, I’m in zn 9a and planted beets Jan 7 direct sow. Sure I got leaves after two months but no fruit!! I pulled out about three of them but I’m not sure if I should’ve left them in. Another YouTuber said that they were biperrenial? Well, I don’t know this is my first time Gardening. I also planted lettuce, but it did not takeoff.
Im gonna start on my radishes, carrots, lettuce, onions, peas, and bok choi on Sunday. Ill get a frost cover as well just in case because Chicago weather is fickle.
I can't get my beets to size up enough in the spring, I think because of weather fluctuations (in the St. Louis area) but I will try again this year and probably in the fall for the first time. Last spring's weather was crazy and a little discouraging for gardeners. Can't wait for this season, though! 😁
I'm in Atlanta and our temps are so extreme that I can't grow like springy crops. It sucks bc I love roasted or fermented radishes and I eat so much salad $$$$
I’ve got my peas and radishes out, but I think I’m going to plant some beets and cabbage this week directly sown (cabbage will be an experiment, I’ve started some indoors too) — I’m in zone 5b CO. So exciting getting seeds going outdoors finally!!
Greetings from humboldt park, I'm worried about the wood decking under your pots rotting. Could use plastic under the grobags with a small air gap between that and deck. Pots are hard it is much easier to garden in the ground I appreciate the videos keep it up!

Do you do your own composting in your small garden?

Do you ever top up your beds with fresh soil before planting?
