  2. Gardens can be raided. Learn to plant Indian gardens spaced far apart. Apt dwellers, plastic 50 gal drums cut in half are good for growing potato's on the porch.

  3. We have been doing the rise garden route since 2018. It is super nice to have fresh organic vegetables from your own garden.

  4. Love your content. Always focused on informing us on preps and not shifting focus to constant fear like a few other channels.

I went with one pear tree and 2 different types of Apple trees. (there is a requirement for Apple trees to be planted near a different type tree in order to pollinate and produce fruit.)
The pear tree will produce fruit on it's own, but would produce more if I had another pear tree near it.

I planted all three trees 2 years ago at about 4' tall each. One apple tree is now 7' while the other is closer to 13'… the pear tree is about 14' and actually produced one pear last year, but very hard and small. (not mature enough for bearing edible fruit yet)

Def going to try your bucket method for tomatos and peppers now. Never had luck in ground.

I'll be starting my backyard chicken (egg layers) project my June. Goal of 10 egg layers plus 2 ducks and a rabbit. Plenty of fresh eggs and fertilizer from droppings is a bonus.
A close friend is now in full swing raising Tilapia. I'm thinking about making an account with a couple friends to show how we prep and how we build our projects.
One of my other projects is a DIY battery/solar generator.

Some long term food company refused to send me a sample so we could try before we buy. They said they simply don't do that for anyone.
I directed them to my tiktok following and told them that was fine… My followers just wanted to to do an honest review.
Imagine that… now they want to send me free kits/buckets and gear plus an affiliate link so I get paid if people use my link to buy stuff.

I politely declined their free samples/kits and the link.

I just wanted to try their pancakes before I spent a couple thousand bucks on a supply that we could end up not liking.

I can't say I would say no to a good offer from a company in the future, but it would be an honest review with honest results published.

Oh…that tiktok account I had (well, I had 3) had followers from 3.3 million down to she smallest at 37,600

I'm just a mechanic, gearhead Army Veteran who is now working as an Electrician. My goal has always been to help people around me.
    Should I start a channel?

  5. This month makes 1 year that I planted 25 fruit trees in our new house…everything is coming to life and it’s fun watching the buds grow into fruit.

  6. I really like your ideas, my only concern is water usage. In a shtf situation I’m truly concerned about water sourcing just to take care of self and family. I’m pretty new to all this prepping business but with of what’s going on in the world right now I’m doing my part to attempt to prepare as much as possible. Thanks much for your videos.

  7. Things are getting tough, pricing of everything going up and no pay increases makes it even harder. 2nd time in 3 years. Glad we planted our fruit trees 20 years ago. Started our seeds indoors. Waiting for snow to melt.

  8. We are in south central Montana, so a somewhat limited growing season. We have a 17×25 ft garden, and we plan to add a half hoop house to it this year. We planted 2 dwarf apple trees, raspberries, a second grape vine, and some blueberries last season. I'm hoping 5o add more permaculture this season, as well as perennial medicinal herbs. This year I hope to add a peach tree, a pear tree, and some elderberry canes.
We have chickens for eggs and recently added a pair of meat rabbits which we are waiting a few more weeks to breed.
We have less than 7500 sqft total, but we're trying to make the absolute most of what we have!

  9. We love our Aerogardens! They also have a handheld "bee pollinator" so you can pollinate your tomatoes indoors. Excellent video…thank you!

  10. Add rabbits to your home. They have up to 12 kits per litter. Their manure can go straight on your garden. You can feed them off the land if need be.

  11. potatoes planted. veggie seedlings going out soon. we still prep canned goods, etc. we have two wells and if needed we can use gens to run pump. I still wash with soap & some bleach any empty juice milk containers and store water. if we have a "short black out" we can use to wash or make coffee and cook on gas grill. prep on.

  12. Thank you, JR for another good video. My plants are already in the buckets. Round 2 of seeds are sprouting. All heirlooms. Going to try and plant some grapes this year. God bless you.

  13. I think your in to something here in Texas. Keep up the good work. Your doing a fine job in your post. One thing I can share back to you is a high fence to keep the deer out of eating your bed plants.
You talked about planting from seeds. Toilet rings cut in half and add soom soil and seed or two seeds. This was just an option.
    Good work

  14. If you have nutty neighbors , paint you buckets green so they blend in with your grass unless you can find green buckets

  15. I live in a subdivision which is semi rural. A few years ago I raised a lamb in the very small back yard. I used to walk it to the local park and let it eat feed for a few hours a day on grass. I had it on a very large dog harness. All of the locals would come out and say hi with kids in tow. This allowed me to get to know alot on my neighbours and make some good friends. Eventually the lamb was 18 months old and we took it to a local farmer so it has the space and could live with other sheep. The farmer is a good sport and still sends photos on a regular basis. The point is one can raise larger animals in an urban environment. I have no doubt this would be fround upon by local officals. On two occasions animal welfair turned up to the park. The same guy both times. He was ex army and could see the animal was healthy and happy so did not take it despite the fact he could. I often thought if I did not get so attached I could have put it in the freezer LOL.

  16. I live in Bahamas and I have tried but the neighbor who is a young bully has about 15 goats that ate everything, my sweet potatoes, pigeon peas trees, broccolis, carrots and beets. I told him about it a few months ago. He saids there is nothing he can do because the goats are stressing him out and wires are too expensive for him to buy to confind them. My husband has a licensed shot gun and rifle but i'm trying to live at peace with my neighbors. What am I to do?

  17. I’ve found not to put holes in the bottom of buckets. Instead put them 4 to 6 inches above the bottom. So it will retain some water. Hope this helps

  18. Make wicking bed out of a broken Fridge. We have 7.The freezer section makes a great place for herbs.People are more than happy for you to pickup, and some give you $10 to take them away šŸ™‚

  19. It's very hard to feasibly garden off grid. Pests, water supply and supply of good soil is a logistics thing I need to figure out

  20. It's almost time to pay the piper his dues…. Perhaps the more technically advance we have become the the less human or loss of most peoples care for humanity or lack their of. People tend to sell you down the river much easier if they can get a leg up in life no matter how little they may benefit. Strange behavior in society a ramp up in narcissism as well.

  21. I start many of my seeds in the AeroGarden. It is awesome. I have 15 various tomato plants and 8 pepper plants started and hardened off. They are now waiting in the hoop house for their permanent home. It's great for my winter plants as well; cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, and lovely broccoli. The AG is such a wonderful tool.

  22. The world is on the brink of the biblical great tribulation …Luke 21,36 KJV
